I'm running sylvania silverstars. They are brighter than stock but recently I've been thinking of doing the hid conversion without the ballast and using the stock reflectors. Supposedly it's obnoxious and floods light everywhere and blinds everyone. Which sounds like exactly what you're looking for.

+1. These are what I ran. Cheap and very effective.

I'm not exactly sure. I'll probably start a thread about it. It's taboo to run that set up.

I dont recommend HID kits....everyone I know that has installed one has had issues with regulators and/or battery issues.
Just throw some silverstars in there and leave it at good. |

Too much light may block the view of your directional lights. Two running lights well apart give cagers better chance to estimate your distance from them.

I took them out when I moved to my next job in a city, they done more harm than good there. I've not seen one that can run without a ballast If you do the job do it right. |

I've also had really good luck with Sylvania Silverstars.
I remember some threads of various forums noting a short life-span, but I have been running the same bulb for probably at least 4 years. |

Jeebuz. Is it really that bad? The hids look like a real pain in the ass long term. Lots of people report problems with them so I went the bulb replacement route. OP did say he wants to be seen. My wants from the headlights are probably different from most anyway.

I installed HID low beam last week. Direct replacement H7 in standard housing.
Was not impressed with the throw distance. IMO (without back to back ride test, which I should really do to confirm) you can see more with an upgraded replacement bulb (which I was running prior to HID). |
