We discovered the day before that her clutch was absolute and complete garbage...so we fixed it. Though she was told the day before this was her first time riding the bike with her new and improved clutch. It took some getting used to.

I have 4 tickets that I'll sell at $100 each. Pm me or email my jigglyporn email address in my sig

Being technical makes it so you're not going to be passed at the same kinds of speeds that you might be at chuckwalla, and it lends itself very well to the strengths of the 250

ON TOP OF THAT, the org TrackXperience not only offers a group discount, but has a special program for riders who are new to the track that's no additional charge and will make it even more of a comfortable environment. And all of this in addition to that being a weekend date instead of a weekday date, likely making it easier for most people to go. And if that wasn't enough, the end of september is guaranteed to be a better temperature than the horrible soul sucking inferno that is chuckwalla at the beginning of the month.

Oh! And I almost forgot to mention that Willow is also more conveniently located, being down the street from a grocery store and gas station and restaurants instead of being in the middle of nowhere, plus being a good 100 miles or so closer to drive to

TL;DR: Everything you said is wrong and you should reconsider.

I disagree. My first trackday was at Streets and even though I crashed, I didn't get hurt. Keith Code holds a lot of his California Superbike School on that track. If you're lucky if the track org that has a trackday or weekend right after them, you will see the CSS markers on track. Feebie for markers to come from a good and reputable school.

I also believe that the slower speeds will minimize injury. Although this is a 250 versus a 600. The technicality of the track makes one go slower. The passing speeds will be much slower too. Plus, you will utilize the gearbox of the 250 more at Streets than you would at Chuckwalla.

If the dates are with Trackxperience, they offer a new rider's school that in my opinion is HANDS DOWN THE BEST OUT OF ALL ORGS! It is very well organized and you actually get a good handout with riding tips, body position, track etiquette, etc. I saw this handout first hand when one of my friends attended their New Riders School at Chuckwalla and I actually learned a couple new things from that handout. I will always remember "Tony Chin" (you would know this if you did the TrackXperience new rider's school)

If I had to do it all over again, I would do TrackXperience with their New Rider's School. At least you are given a sense of direction without the strict structure of a dedicated rider school like Keith Code's CSS.

With Trackdaz, you either have to take the initiative to find a control rider to show you around or be doing something waaayy off where they intervene and will tap their tale to tell you to follow them.

Plus Juan to everything Taffy said
Matt and Tiff, I completely agree 100% Thanks!

If anyone does want to come out to Streets of Willow Sept 28&29, I'll be there with my Cookiemonster 250.

Dear everybody.

It's not ideal for this "noob day" to be held on a Friday, with an org that some say aren't as noob friendly as others (though it is plenty safe) and at a track that may be considered far. You're right.

I'm offering my time to help these people out at a track that I'm most familiar with with an org that I'm most familiar and comfortable with at this time. I'm not holding a gun to anybody's head and not forcing them to do it. Some seem to forget that although it's not the absolute best situation it's a nice thing that I'm trying to set up for these people. If you have thoughts or ideas on improvements that's great, maybe you would like to set something up too Instead of bickering about what the best way to do this is can we please focus this thread on who wants to join this specific event?

One last bump before I start an official thread.

WHO'S IN FOR SO CAL NOOBIE TRACK DAY?!

NO Max. You're just wrong. So just be there, wrong, and sit in your wrongness!

:-P

I certainly am not trying to be accusatory in any way, and hope I wasn't taken that way. But I WILL be at the TX days at Streets if anyone wants to hang, noob or not!

Just sayin'

I just saw today that C Group (beginner group) is down to 10-11 remaining spots. I've messaged the owner of TrackDaz again to get a discount code for us and then we need to sign up FAST.

GET READY EVERYBODY WHO IS INTERESTED. TIME TO HOP ON THE PARTY TRAIN.

Remember what's second in importance to signing up and having a bike to ride... having a way to get there! Make sure you know how to get there or have an idea/fall-back plan before you sign up.

I can arrange a trackday w/discounts for us at SOW next year. Would be cool to get enough 250 riders to take over C group.

LOL
I'd be interested in doing that assuming I've managed to hunt down a salvaged 300. Just curious as to why C group instead of B? With the no passing to the inside rule in C group I'd think it would make coaching more difficult.

I think because he's also going for the getting new people out to the track concept, so C group would be more appropriate for the first time or still newer to the track folk.
