EBR has always come off as a niche manufacturer, without being able to identify a market. I have no doubt about the passion of the team, but it seems like they always had to find their own way of doing things regardless of what the market wanted.

Unfortunate to hear they're doing under, but it wasn't completely unexpected. Since starting riding in 2006, I can count on one hand the number of people I know who own Buell/EBRs and I'd still have fingers left over.

A Buell would be a motorcycle I'd consider buying. But then I like riding motorcycles that are unexpected. It's fun to ride my '89 Moto Guzzi Mille GT and see the puzzled looks on the faces of nearly everyone who notices it. Last time I rode it to a local auto parts store a guy proudly guessed "What's that, a 250?"

Shame. It's been a story of up and down from the start. I would have loved to get my hands on an 1190RX....just too expensive to buy new for me.

They should have at least catered to the market with a less aggressive model (performance and price) in addition to the 1190. Hard to start and sustain a company with only one premium product.

premium that thing was far from it, it was in the same price category as Ducati and bmw with lots of problems on its plate and also was lacking in the performance part to them.

He makes cool bikes. At least my group of friends all think so. But good business man he is not.

He probably alienated too many costumers when he wouldn't honor the warranties on the the bikes he made with Hero. At least I'm sure it didn't help.
