Thanks.
I just took off the sticker as cleanly as possible then used Goo Gone to rub out the residue left behind. The Kawasaki is still there but in matte black.

That is nice! I was thinking about doing the same. Put a hair dryer (not a heat gun) on the Ninja lettering for 3 mins and it should ease the removal.

That will aide in the removal of the graphic, but you'll find the adhesive will be stuck pretty good to the paint.

I ended up using lacquer thinner to remove the adhesive. Goo gone didn't work for me.

Thumbs up Some more

The tank is clear coated so you can't remove without repainting it. I'm having decals made in yellow that will cover all but about 1mm of silver around edge.
Just heat decals with hair dryer and peel off. Then clean any excess residue with goo gone or denatured alcohol.

If you want to black out the Kawasaki on the tank, you can get black decals to overlay the existing ones here from one of our members:

romeo,

it's not matte black, just standard 08' or '10 ebony. 09' was metallic black.

^^^indeed. Mine is an 09 so it has the metallic black but what you might be referring to is the side panel under the seat that is matte. It's an OEM fairing and has a texture to it.
