Is it ok to ride naked?
By naked I mean with the fairings off . I don't plan on riding for at least a few weeks, but is there any problems with riding without fairings?

No place to mount the turn signals and it looks like like hell. Other than that shouldn't be a problem.

In many states (VA is one), turn signals ARE NOT required, so make sure you give the correct HAND signals. For tuning purposes, it is common to ride with the fairings off.

True that many states, mine included don't require turn signals, but I think Cali does.

if you have ALL of them off you might be better than some on, some off. Otherwise, the wind might put force on the fairings in areas it normally wouldn't. Don't ask.... but I'll have a DIY for cracked fairings soon....

I'm not sure now but they was it used to work was that if you had signals and they did not work you could get a ticket but if you did not have any you were fine as long as you used hand signals. I would be nervous about relying on hand signals today as half the drivers on the road probably would not know what they meant. If they can't see a flashing light they sure won't notice a hand signal |
