Motorcycle Spinner (turntable, spinner, dolly)

Does anyone have one? I've been thinking about getting one for my garage. Something like either of these. The first one is HF and I have a coupon for $59.99.

The $1000 one seems like a huge waste of space. You can't put it near a wall or have anything on either side of it.

Does the HF one have locks on the wheels? If not, it'll try to run away from you when you attempt to roll the bike on... and will just roll with the bike when you try to take it off.

HF stuff is notoriously cheesy in its construction. You go there to buy stuff you don't expect to last.

What it does is there are two levers on both ends that when pressed down lifts the wheels off the floor so it won't move.

Doesnt take much force, probably only 30 lbs.

Just make sure kickstand is fully open.

I might try it with the hubby around. I'm afraid I'd lean it too far my way and it would fall on top of me and I'd be stuck under it with no help. (My mind goes to extremes.)

lift slowly though,
once you see how little it takes to balance the bike this way, you will have real good control over it.

Thanks Alex...it's still up in the air about getting the one I linked from HF. It's $60 plus $51 to have it shipped. Not sure what I'll do.

I am a nayer on the side stand pivot method. Just as easy to do a 20 point turn in my opinion. I have a couple of small 1500lb rotating bike lifts, but they are only nice to move things to the side, not a full 360degrees. (I do not have the best concrete floor)

What got me looking was this ad on CL. It's super annoying for me to do the 20 point turn. I asked him about it and he said he built it himself. Spent $300 on parts and will sell it for $200.

ya gotta figure, that it takes space in order to rotate your ride around on the lift.
Looks like the garage shown on craigslist is never used. No lift needed. Drive in, do a U'y and drive back out without putting a foot down. LOL

I'm still not sure I understand the need for this... pull bike into garage. Next ride, sit on bike, walk it backwards until out of the garage. Once out of the garage, pull hard either right or left on the bars and turn 90 degrees. Then keep walking it back for another couple of feet. Put bike in first gear, turn bars the other way and ride out of the driveway. Why are people pay a grand to do this...

Still think both the 20 turn and kickstand are better, since they can be done anywhere but if the rider cant do them then the dollie is a good idea.

Yeah...I don't have that much room in my garage, that's for sure!!! Just enough to turn it if I had one of these. Hence the 20 point turn. That's not an exaggeration.

I can't really do this because my garage is on a bit of a "hill". From the garage foundation there's a decline. So much so that my feet wouldn't be able to touch the ground sitting on the bike to back it up. I'm also not the tallest person 65" so it makes it difficult. If you see the first post the HF one is only $59.99. Not too bad. I'd just have to pay the $51 to have it shipped.

O wasn't really directing that at you I figured you were fairly intelligent and if you needed something like this, it was for a legit reason. I'm just saying, apparently there is a market for people to pay 1000 dollars for something that rotates their motorcycle...

Most of these devices don't seem to give you a normal way to lift the bike even with your own stands. I guess they expect you to use bottle jacks?

That's not the point of the device. It's just to move the bike around, not service it. For servicing, you take the bike off the dolly and lift it as normal with your own stands.

To the OP... you're clear that you'll have to rotate the bike, move it to the door end of the garage and back the bike off the stand, right? As far as I know these things only have a ramp on the back end.

Here's a center lift paddock stand that will lift and serve as a dolly. Cost a bit more than the other devices though.

If you watch the YT video I added it shows it has a ramp on both ends to roll it on and then off once turned around.

I saw these too doing my search. Looks great but expensive...also one of the worries I read about this one that people had was how it prevents it from slipping off once in the air. It kind of just slide onto the bike. I haven't seen a locking mechanism that keeps it there.

EDIT...just watched the video (sorry) I see the locking mechanism now.

I think a rotating platform would be cool. When I design my house I'm going to have one built. However, it'll be built into the floor, and itll be covered in nice tiles and flush with the rest of the floor. You can still park other stuff on top, but if you put your bike on the circle and flip a switch, it'll rotate the bike(s) around. Might even decide to make it big enough to rotate a car around too

The paddock looks great! Sure beats the $1000 spin thing for $340 + it works as a lift for maintenance on wheels and from the other side of the bike to which the paddock is attached.

That sounds awesome!!! Do you watch Modern Family? There's an episode where they go to a guys house and he has a turn table in his driveway to turn his cars around on.

It does look great! Although, I think the $59.99 one will work for now.

lol sadly i don't have TV since I'm trying to save up money! thought it'd be such a waste. but I'd imagine it's really cool!! I want to have an actual garage and then an internal garage/lounge set a few feet below the rest of the house for bikes, couch, ps3 whatever (the bachelor pad type place). That is..if I get married..LOL if im single then the bikes are going in the middle of my living room.

Does that paddock stand replace the need for front and rear stands? Also, does it only attach on one side of the bike?

Yep...there's a video up there somewhere... It connects on one side and raises the bike up completely. There are some with wheels and without.
