Palmer was AWESOME last weekend!!!

Absolutely perfect conditions both days. Last year I got booted up to blue group (second fastest of the four groups) and for the first time, I felt like I belong there. Smoother and faster than I've ever ridden.

Heads up @csmith12 and @Koala: TTD days are selling out farther in advance this year. Keep your eyes open and get your slots for August lined up as soon as you're able. I've already reserved and paid for mine.

Chris, are you bringing Kevin? Anyone else? If we get enough people we might rent four garage bays, two on each side so we can ride through. Or two, if we get eight people or fewer. A bay holds four bikes. Heads up that the track pre-sold half the garage to car guys so bays are in short supply. I'll front the cost once I know who's coming. Garages are rented by the bay, $100 for both days. That breaks down to $25 per bike if we fill the bay, which isn't bad. Power is provided.

@Ducati999 I know you've got a lot of people who are saying they might make it but you know how that goes. Seen it, heard it, nobody's ever actually done it. Do what you can to get a commitment from them.

Thanks for the heads up, I've seen Tony posting in the Facebook group about how fast they are selling out. I paid and was added to the list quite a while ago

I have rented two garage bays for the TTD event at Palmer Motorsports Park in MA August 4/5. The two bays together can accommodate up to eight bikes, and I've rented back-to-back bays so we can just ride straight through. Garages have power.

There's plenty of space left for anyone who wants to join the fun. Currently August 4 has five confirmed people, leaving three slots. August 5 has only three confirmed people, leaving five slots available.

About a week before the event I will open spaces up to the TTD group in general to recoup some of my expense.

At Palmer they rent by the bay, not by the bike. The cost to me was $200 all in, both bays for both days. Any cash you care to throw my way would be welcome.

IF YOU'RE COMING AND WANT A GARAGE SPOT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!! You snooze, you lose.

You bet. Re food, I've got a two-burner Coleman stove and a single-burner butane unit. Assuming you have a cooler just hit a market before you arrive and fill it with whatever you like. In between all of us we'll be fine.

I'm half tempted to bring my Instant Pot and just make a bunch of that chili I told you about.

Hey guys hope you are enjoying the track day season. Not sure if I will do any this year as we bought a boat and have been learning to run it (well learning to dock it). Mainly commuting on the bike but hope to get a track day in.

I had considered bringing my Instant Pot as well. It would be easy peasy.

I do need to make up my mind on what I want to do dinner wise. I have no clue at this moment.

You've got a long drive... pack light. I've been messaging @Ducati999 and I think that in between him and me we've got lunch main courses covered, plus everyone tends to bring standard snacks and such.

There's also the on-site food vendor, who can provide breakfast and lunch fare.

Re dinner: Saturday the track opens around 6. I usually eat before I get there because on arrival I'm busy running the bike through tech, setting up the garage, etc.

Sunday there's pizza in the big tent right after the track walk ($10/person, must get your name on the list before lunch so Tony knows how much to order). I usually do that because you get to spend time with other riders who you wouldn't run into otherwise.

However, I could be talked into breaking the routine.

Questions I've been meaning to ask...

does TTD supply bottled water like Mid O does, or should I make sure I have some? I plan on bringing Powerade, but I usually switch back and forth between the two.

what kind of temps are we going to be looking at? We've hit the high 90s here, and if that (or even high 80s) is going to be the case, I need to make sure I have enough to stay hydrated cuz I sweat like crazy when active.

@Ducati999 was saying I don't need to worry about tech on Saturday evening, but I'm hoping to arrive around 6:30. the TTD site says tech will be at 7:30 and I would like to get that done and over with if I'm there in time. If I'm on schedule I'll see if there is somewhere for me to stop to grab dinner before I get to the track. As for pizza on Sunday, I'll probably skip that. I wouldn't eat enough to justify spending $10 on it lol.

I'm definitely getting excited! I'll miss my kitty, but it will be nice to be away from everything and have fun on the bike without having to pay attention to cars/animals/potholes/stopsigns and lights

As far as water, no, TTD does not supply. If you run short stores are nearby. I also bring several gallons and you're free to grab what you like.

Hit the pizza dinner anyway, just for the socialization (unless the group wants to do something different... playing it by ear here).

Re tech: The best reason to hit it the night before is that there's no line and it frees up some extra time in the morning; there is nothing quite like relaxing in the morning with a cup of coffee and watching people scramble. I'll be arriving about the same time you do and will be more than happy to help.

Re heat: Temps will likely be on the warm side and we often get significant humidity here in the Northeast.

Regarding staying cool, we all have our routines but FWIW here's mine (works like a charm):

1) Get a "cool towel." These are special foam towels that hold a lot of water, readily available at Harbor Freight, Lowes', etc. During the day it lives in the cooler, in the ice melt water. Between sessions take it out and drape it around your neck. It WILL keep you cool. I'll pick one up for you if you like (a gift, yours to keep). Let me know.

2) I keep a hat in the cooler too, also soaking in cold water. When I pull in I put it on, fully wet. When it's REALLY hot, first I'll grab an ice cube out of my cooler and rub it over my head until it melts.

3) I wear a balaclava or skull cap when riding. Ditto... it soaks in cold water between sessions and I put it on right before my helmet goes on. Lasts most of the session.

4) Wicking base layers. Long sleeves, so your suit doesn't stick when you try to take it off.

5) Hit the classroom every chance you get. It's got AC, sort of.

6) Don't overdo it. You've got two full days and more than enough track time coming. Consider taking the post-lunch session off to save your energy. Amazing what a little power nap can do for you.

I'm going to grab a pack of water bottles to help replenish Ant's cooler since he said I can grab from there.

As far as the pizza dinner, there are going to be so many people there I will most likely just chill on my own (unless any of our group cares to join me). I'm an introvert and also anxious in large social groups of people I don't know.

It would be awesome of you to grab one of those towels for me. I had never heard of them before.

thank you

THE AMAZING MOVING SCHEDULE UPDATE POST for 2019

After 60 days you can't edit posts. So this post will be updated periodically and moved to the bottom of the thread.

Only showing independent track day organizations here. NYST also runs its own events, sometimes on the same day as a track day org. Visit http://www.nyst.com for their schedule.

Post up which days and what group you'll be riding in.

Red means confirmed, paid commitment
Blue means intent, yet to be confirmed

TTD/Razee as of January 2, 2019:

Heads up... Tony's pricing rewards advance planning. Membership is expensive compared to other organizations, but it gives you a hefty discount throughout the season. The membership pays for itself if you attend five days. It's always worked well for me; the tradeoff is the need to commit ahead of time to at least that many if you want it to pay off.

Tony has always offered pay-in-advance cash discounts. When you attend, bring cash in an unsealed envelope to pay for the next event. Same for memberships: way cheaper if you pay in cash for next year before the end of the season. Add up the pay-in-advance membership savings and grab the per-day cash discount throughout the season, and it pretty much pays for a whole track day at member rates.

I would love to do Thompson on Sept 22 but that is too close to my Vacation. I am considering going for the Sept 1 just the Sunday at Palmer but will have to see.

I got the GRIP MEMBERSHIP with Evolve again for 2020. I will be doing their MotoGladiator race series on the 400. We are planning on hitting PITTRACE Memorial weekend, 5/30 & 5/31. I will probably book this event in March. Never been there.

NYST is my home track, when I am not traveling with Evolve, I will be at NYST. Their schedule isn’t up yet.

NJMP, NCBIKE, Summit Point and Palmer, I will be hitting when Evolve is there. Never been to Palmer, looking forward to it!
