That looks fun, but my back would kill me if I did that too long. For some reason it reminds me of clowns on little cars.
The poor bikes at the end. BTW fixed it for ya: |

You shoulda been on a bike. Talk about a stomach churner. I hung my ass off the left side of the bike the entire time. Didn't even bother sitting on the bike on the front straight.
Its just a GoPro Hero mounted on the front of the windshield. I'd like to find something better quality for this season, but the mounting is the main issue. Any ideas? Someone said the Flip would be good, but I don't see a good way to mount it. |

Have you seen that HD camera that Chris uses? I agree mounting is an issue, but the vid quality is amazing. At less than $200, I've been toying with the idea of getting one and trying to figure the mounting later, but I haven't convinced myself yet. Not much info/specs out on the web about the camera, which makes me hesitant.

A friend bought that Aiptek with high hopes, but it has zero image stabilization capabilities and while the resolution is HD he couldn't get the image from vibrating on a sportbike, trying a whole bunch of different mounts. Ended up returning it. I guess it depends if you can find an effective mount to wipe out almost all of the vibration...

Kids ride those mini-bikes around campus and even on the roads in the bicycle lanes. They look so funny!

What I would do to mount is this:
Create a fiberglass mold to fit the area just under the windscreen. Then use screws with rubber washers, mount the fiberglass to the existing plastic behind the cluster panel. Then get a block of styrofoam, and cut out the exact size of the camera. Shove the camera into the strofoam and then it shouldn't vibrate. This is what I plan on doing next summer. The only thing I just thought of, do you have as much room as I do behind the cluster? |

I think that mini GP would be a blast... Back in Aug. this year I was looking on the local classifieds and came across this street legal CRF50... This topic reminded me of it. Never seen or even thought of doing that... Heres a pic (for those interested) It sold here in SAlt Lake I believe for around $2k

I have a 47cc pocket bike. 2 stroke air-cooled junker.
It is just a cheap one from China but its a blast. I've hurt myself more on that little pocket bike then anything else I own. It can wheelie if you throw all your weight back and pull up on the bars really hard. Its fun to go out to a mall after-hours and race them. We have organized a few "races" around the local mall in the evenings. Its a blast. Its very easy to scrape peg and get these little bikes right over. |
