Friend Dumped My Bike.. Help!

so i had a buddy who had "rode tons of bikes before" so im like hell why not im in a great mood today take her out for a spin. he didnt make it a foot, he reved to like 7k and let go of the clutch sending the bike flying. each and every faring is scratched to **** (don't ask how) gear selector is bent to hell and back, both blinkers are screwed and some other minor stuff.

i need some cheap fairings that don't look like ass, and that are not from china (have heard horrors about them)
all the other stuff i can get local for decent price. thanks guys

i know yall love pics, they do no justice but here ya go...

What a crappy friend.
Since your bike is black, have you considered fixing the fairings yourself? Fill any cracks, sand, paint.

Friends don't let friends ride their bikes.

I wouldn't let a friend ride my bike any more than I'd let him ride my wife.

I can't help notice you said "had" a buddy….

And yeah, he owes you a set of factory fresh OEM fairings, plus decals and insulation pads, and turn signals… the whole ball o' wax. He should also order them, go pick them up and deliver them to you himself. Period. No negotiation.

You call that scratched to ****? Doesn't look terrible.....and exactly Andrew. If anything, that's one thing I've learned from this forum: Friends don't let friends ride their bikes. It rarely ends well.

This is where people here sent me and where I'll probably end up going when I get back and decide to replace my scratched fairings, which btw are a lot worse than yours. Unless you have the money to blow, I'd honestly consider maybe waiting to replace them....pictures never do it justice but just from an outsiders perspective, it could be a lot worse. Make sure you step back to look at damage done and not let your anger/frustration over the incident cloud your judgement.

im not letting it cloud my judgement at all, the fact is this bike didnt have a damn scratch on it before i let him get on it. im actually in the process of reselling it, so now that it has scratches yes it is a big deal, and no i am not throwing this out of proportion....

and is there any cheaper places that sell a whole kit? virtually like this but not from hong kong lol

If your buddy dropped it, your buddy should be in charge of paying for making it the way it was before it was dropped.

I have only let 2 people ride my bike. 1 was my fathers coworker who's been riding for 30+ years. The other was my buddy who rides a 600 and wanted to swap rides to see what the 250 is all about.

If you decide to replace, I replaced one of my fairings a few months back and this was the cheapest I could find after checking all the dealers, shops, and online retailers I could:

http://www.amazon.com/Kawasaki-Ninja.../dp/B0060NUWLI

http://www.amazon.com/Kawasaki-Ninja...498256-3261334

http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Kawasa...498256-3261334

If you're an Amazon Prime member ($80 a year) I believe you'll get free 2 day shipping on these as well, which works out since the shipping is $100 for each fairing. With Amazon Prime, each fairing costs $169 and these are genuine Kawasaki parts straight out of their Thailand factory.

I'm an Amazon prime member and those parts are unfortunately not eligible for free shipping, 2 day or otherwise.

Well that sucks... not surprising though.

Even with the shipping cost, they were still the cheapest I could find. Most it seems start at around $270 without shipping costs.

Amazon has that too.

http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Kawasa.../dp/B004XYL9XQ

$40, looks like they're usually around $70-80. You might wanna try Ebay also.

Not worth replacing brand new. Look used (check here or elsewhere) and even better bend it back. The stock bars are steel, so you can cold work them back without too much issue.

As for how.. Once it is removed, clamp it down in a vice (make sure the vice is fixed to something that won't slide) or something similar, take some galvanized steel and bend it back.

This. And if you were going to let him ride it, you should have let him know this in the first place.
