So, any time frame on the undertail exhaust?
I'm holding out for that since it cannot be used with the hugger and/or undertail replacement. But, if it is looking more and more like that project is on the back burner and could be another year away (I thought it was due the first part of '10 when it was first discussed), I might be interested. |

I didn't back burner the undertail exhaust. Sportisi still wants to play with it to try to get it perfect. The cf race exhaust is the reason for the delay.

the CF picture you posted only shows the smaller part in CF, I just want to confirm that both pieces come in CF.
Why a 2-part design? |

Look at the colored ones and it's obvious. One part is the swingarm cover, one part is USUALLY a separate body-colored piece. It wouldn't make sense to make a new mold just because they also make the whole thing in CF.

I wasnt suggesting a new mold just for a 1-piece CF one. I wondered what their rationale was on making it a 2-part design (as opposed to some competitors 1-piece design) and I also wanted clarification on the CF content of the CF version. But thanks for your |

Boys not in this thread please.
Who said we had to make it in one piece. We do it our way. So to answer your question straight up and down it's cause we felt like it and that is the style of the indonesian huggers

Sorry. I had no idea he'd take it that way. Instead of just pointing out that the answer is clear from another perspective, I'll spell it out politely.
Quote:
No one was insulting anyone. I only pointed out that a 1 piece design covering everything like this only makes sense for a full unpainted CF hugger like the A-Tech hugger from Japan. If you compare, you will see that the part covering the swingarm is not attempting to create a false swingarm and, thus, leaves no "line" for painting the other half. The A-Tech hugger was pretty much made to be a full CF hugger with no painted options. While this Sportisi one is available in full CF, it wasn't made to be sold that way exclusively like the other full CF huggers, and the design reflects that. A one piece design with a false swingarm would need to have a fake seam to make a convincing swingarm + hugger. The ONLY false swingarm-cover + hugger style ones come from Indonesia, one of which is GSX-R styled and doesn't match our bikes. On that one, the second piece looks interchangeable with an actual GSXR hugger piece that normally attaches to a swingarm instead of a hugger, thus, a swingarm cover piece is necessary. The other two I know of are both from Sportisi and, though the fake swingarm + hugger concept is the same, they are making original designs made to match the styling of our bikes, which is what I prefer. Because they are also attempting to look like a hugger attached to a swingarm, a two-piece design is still employed. There's no such thing as a swingarm with a painted metal protrusion hugging the rear tire, so there's no reason to make a fake swingarm that way. The single-piece colored designs that exist (Scott's eBay hugger, the hideous single-color Skidmarxx one, etc) aren't even remotely similar and they do nothing to mask the swingarm. I can't imagine that you were asking why these aren't made like those, so I won't assume that you were, and I only mention them for completeness' sake. And I was simply providing you with that rational. I thought I could do it in fewer words but that was poorly received, for which I apologize, so please accept the full explanation. |

am I too late for this? I would have to check with the bank of wife... but I'm sure I could convince her. What would be the price for original style in CF (not the fake stuff). Please let me know if I'm not too late!
