Apparent Bike Scam

to all of you that thought my bike was a scam yesterday when i posted a thing to sell it. screw you all. all i wanted to do was sell my bike. I was told by my friend to try it on here the bike was never downed and yes there are people in this world that buy different color panels and tanks because they simply don't like the ones that were on the bike. so to shut all of you up i went to the damn storage unit today and took the pics that you guys all think would prove that its not a scam. I never post on forums and had no idea that all you guys here are paranoid. there are people that are not trying to screw everyone!

There are people that are not trying to screw everyone - those people are generally us. You can't blame us for being horribly skeptical when you are selling something that is a scam 99% of the time.

That having been said and with these pictures now I can say...

Holy Sh!t he ain't kidding!

good luck with your sale.

That being said, you can't blame us for thinking it was a scam. I'm sure if you had been in our shoes, you'd have thought the same thing. But also, that black and white looks nice.

You might want to make your advertisement look less sketchy then. There are no records for your VIN#

I would not have called that thread a scam.

All one had to do is visit the seller.

I'm liking your black-and-white color scheme. Well executed.

The only element I'm not totally on board with is the white rim tape.

Hopefully your sale goes well Id be interested if I didnt have one already.

If this turns into another for sale thread, it will be deleted as well. There are requirements to sell things on this site, that are widely known. No - it's not kosher for a new poster with 0 posts to miscategorize a thread and try and sell something outside of the marketplace areas.

That said, yes, it does look like there are actual parts. Stick around awhile and post enough to meet the requirements, and if it's still for sale at that point, put it in the right area.

Brand new ninja for $4k? Hell, if I could find that deal, I'd grab me a black 2012 with the sexy yellow/gray instead of possibly settling for an older, straight blac one.

Good luck to the OP on the sale if he decides to stick around to meet the requirements and what not. I'd love to buy it but funds aren't up until spring and you're a bit far, lol.

with those extra body farings, you're going to have a really hard time convincing that it has never been dropped.

nobody with a brain is going to buy the story that you just didn't like the color green, whether it's true or not.

and $4K is a ridiculous price

Why would he have a hard time if both sets of fairings are straight? Would you be under the assumption that there is a 3rd set that is damaged somewhere?

Also, while $4K seems a little high, its actually not out of the question for his location. California resale on this bike is much higher than your home town from the research I have done. Add in the extra set of fairings and it might not be that bad of a price. Personally, I think he will get closer to $3500-3800 at best in the off season. But certainly $4K is not "ridiculous" out here.

I see them everyday for $3500-3800 without an extra set of fairings. $4K is an asking price. Surely not "ridiculous". $4500+ would qualify as ridiculous, IMO.

Granted, I wouldn't give him $4K but I surely don't think its a ridiculous asking price to start with in Ca. You clearly have a different definition of ridiculous than I.

It's true. For some reason, bikes here hold their value like nowhere else. $4k might be ambitious, but there will be a buyer.

Bikes in Ca do seem to command a higher resale value but considering the time of year....it's a little high! Looking at a zx6r 09' 2k miles for $4.5k now! If I didn't just get this other bike it would already be in my garage (trying to convince the wife as we speak).

4k is not a bad price. with what he has and all. I think that he wont get as much but id have to agree its not a bad starting place. Im surprised they are cheaper in socal if thats the case. I see bikes with more millage going for 3.5k all day out here... granted it is winter, so his chances are less but if this was available in the spring. I would bet my left nut this would be gone within a week at very close to his asking price.

The 250s hold their value like CRAZY out here. I am painting mine and doing a bunch of stuff on it and will prolly ask 4k when its time to sell. Am I crazy? na I know how people like to barter and would go down at least $500. and I GUARANTEE you that I will be able to sell it for around 3.5 in the riding season... Perhaps there is just so many more people in Socal selling that it drives the price down. During the riding season up here you are lucky to find any AT 3k this includes pregens and newgens. dudes with pregens still want 3k for their bike with 15000+ miles on it...

If you're going to get offended by what strangers on the internet say you should probably take up yoga, or some other form of relaxation. There are millions upon millions of people on the internet, and it's virtually guaranteed that most of them will not be of the same mind as you.

GL selling your bike.

$4K for just the bike is still a common asking price in Ca. He will end up having to take $3500-3800 for just the bike. Its a clean 2010 SE so $4K is not a ridiculous asking price based on others on the market here. Where in the ad does it say "Firm"?
