New to sport bikes but not to motorcycles.

I just purchased a 2006 250cc Ninja, almost 9000 miles for $600.00. Bike turns over and will start and run when I put some sea foam into the carbs, BUT the fuel smells a bit off so I figured I would clean the carbs. I did notice that it was dumping fuel on the garage floor, making me think the floats are not closing/level.

I just finished resurrecting a 38 year old 82 Yamaha XJ650 customized into what I was looking for.

Anyone else have green carbs

I think I may have figured out the reason for the fuel on the floor and zero in the engine. I have never run into carbs this color, usually tan or brown. I've been slimed. Thanks for the welcome!

Yup, welcome to corn-lobby and ethanol-enhanced petrol! When I got my bike, it had carbs like this!

Tried to clean for a bit, bought ultrasonic cleaner, scrub-brushes and all sorts of solvents. Improved, but still not running 100%. Sent them to ducatiman, got back in week and bike ran like brand-new!!!

NICE! That is an amazing deal. Even if it requires a bit of elbow grease to get going right, it is worth it!

Welcome!
