we got 6 inches of rain, and nothing but some tropical feeling wind.
was hoping for at least a day off from work, being it was still a cat 1 when it passed over us, 200 miles inland and all.

A friend near Albany Georgia said they had 110 mph winds. Car and part of house got crushed from falling trees.
Another friend in Tallahassee Florida came out ok. Another a little further south, have t heard from him yet.

The news is showing pics of the Florida Gulf Coast and areas look like a bomb went off.

The eye passed by about seven miles east of here, but it was pretty well died down by then, so we had something like 30 mph gusts. Even so, the power is off for a whole lot of people in the middle part of NC. Ours was off from about 7 PM 7AM, but we got lucky. The outage map is still showing that they thought they wouldn't get ours back on until 11 PM Saturday.

I guess you're several hundred miles west of there. I was thinking that you may have gotten some wind and rain, but I'm glad you didn't have to deal with it.

The hurricane is gone so now it’s time to rebuild. I hope everyone rebuilds better and stronger.
