I took this recently for a local band:
This was the one they really liked. It was a small venue, so I struggled to get a good shot of all three of them without anything in the way:

Also I picked up a Canon 20D from a garage sale a few weeks back. Has the battery grip and a slightly broken 28-135 kit lens. Didn't come with a charger (although he had a universal he wanted to keep), but came with a CF card. A massive 512MB. Was only $75, so I couldn't pass it up.
Spent $40 on a 4GB CF card (and ended up getting 2 more for free from a friend) and a 2 battery and charger combo. I had a junky 28-90 kit lens that worked just fine. But since I do automotive photography, I needed a wide. Got a decent deal on a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8. So I'll be posting more digital shots.

I see. Have you thought about the 18-35 f/1.8? I know it overlaps your 24-70 a fair amount, but it's a relatively wide FAST zoom. Supposedly performs very nicely as well.
Also, bought a Nikon F5 instead of an F4S. I think I get to keep the broken F4S anyway, so that'll make a nice decoration. Just need to get an F1 to complete the lineup (except for an F6, but I can't afford that).

True. I'm still kinda deciding on what lens I want for my F5. Right now I have a Tokina 24-70 2.8 AT-X, but unfortunately about 50% of the rear element is fungus.
At first I was thinking about the Samyang 14mm f/2.8, but once I get the F5 in my hands, I found that the focusing system is BLAZING FAST. Like holy **** it blew my mind how fast it cycle from near to infinity, and how fast it actually locked focus. Just wow. This is an accurate representation.

Welp, still deciding between the $250 Nikkor 24/2.8D or the $500 Samyang 24/1.4.
As much as I'd love autofocus, especially with the F5, I can't say no to a blazing fast f/1.4. AND the fact that it gets beautifully sharp at f/2.8, while the Nikkor doesn't get better until f/5.6.

Out the window, obviously.
There's actually plenty of contrast in those photos, just no black. It's all mid and high. |

Cool building, don't know is it ancient (the city is over a thousand years old) or just designed to look that way I tried uploading the higher res one, which is a bit less grainy but it was too big, this is also a nice shot of it, but scaled down to 1/4 it's res to fit on here it looks a bit ****, ah well that's the way it is... |

I am still going through images I took a while back. I have been busy with setting up nursery stuff for my daughter who will arrive in April. Plenty of photo opportunities once she arrives!!

I am revamping my pricing. Business has been slow, but since my daughter is on the way in a couple of months, a new door is opening.
I'm going to work on newborn photography. People love to get those youth pictures of their child. A nurse that took us around the hospital showed interest in my being a photographer. She said they provide a service in house for fresh newborns, but that is it. Many want a pro photographer to take "cute" photos of their little ones posed and with cute clothes. She asked that I get together pricing (since I didn't have a pricing sheet for newborns) and send it over. She said she would relay some info over to people who wanted a photographer. I need to work on my site. Looking at it now, it looks blah. I need to clean it up and make it look GOOD.

ROFL I could see that being taken the wrong way!
Well, they require a ton a patience and props. I have several props for girls since we are having a girl. I will need to get some extras (looking at clearance racks right now). I purchased some fabric and made my own setting for a newborn. I borrowed a sewing machine from my mother-in-law and watched a tutorial video on how to use it, then started away and started having issues. I am not cut out for this sewing junk. hahaha Still, need to learn how to deal with it because I can save some serious cash by making my own props.

Bought an NEX-6. I am in love with mirrorless.
Took it out for real last night, shot a bunch, including video. I'll sort through it when I'm not running on 3 hours of sleep the entire weekend.

We have a local Facebook group here for garage sales. My wife watches it quite a bit looking for baby stuff for our daughter that is on her way. She noticed a little used Nikon D3200 for sale. They wanted $300 for it, but we are "watching" it. If nobody takes it, which I don't think many will, we will throw a low bid of $200 for the camera. It would be AWESOME to have a second body to shoot with. Then I can have my 24-70, or another lens, on one, and my 70-300 on another. It would make it easier to shoot events. Plus, I would have a backup if one needs to go in for service. I hope nobody jumps on it, but there is one kid showing interest (a lady's son). Hmmmm, If I don't get it, I don't get it. Meh.
The deal isn't that great though. I'm only interested in the body, not the kit 18-55 lens, or the slightly better 55-200. I already have both of those. I may hit up Amazon and find a refurb'd unit to have as a backup. Of course, in a pinch, I do have my old D50 sitting on a shelf. It is only 6.1MP though. A 3200 is what, 24MP? So...ummm......yeaaaaahhhhh. hahaha

My little kitty. She is a model for a friend who sells Sphynx clothing (since they have no fur).
I gotta give her props, she got me my first published photo. It is kind of cool being able to say I've been published. hahahaha

@Mountain Dew is shooting film!!!?!?!!?!?!!?!!!?!!!
I have a darkroom in my basement but I haven't shot film in awhile. I shot about 20 rolls over the summer on a road trip and I don't know where any of them are, it's so upsetting, I can't shoot more film until I find it... they were mostly color too... some shots of my dog lately

Naw, bru..S5. What do you guys have to say about the quality of that picture, or the lack thereof? I know there's more to a picure than resolution.
How come this car looks as if it's a really small scale model? The car in the back looks way bigger, making the area in focus look really small. |

Essentially this is a multi-level panorama using a 50mm f/1.8 lens. With the shallow depth of field it adds a little trick to the image that a single exposure can not attain. This was a 15 shot composite...
