Okay, cool. Cuz I saw a Camaro on the cover of a magazine and it looked like a scale model lol..I was like wth. What's the point of doing that if it makes the object look like a toy?

Looks somewhat like a tilt-shift image. Much more subtle, though; very nice!

FINALLY go to test my 50/2 Jupiter-8 (post-war Soviet copy of the Zeiss Sonar 50/2). Rather sharp in the center, not so much in the corners, so they say. They didn't have click-stops for aperture, so it's very weird. Focus is a little stiff on the long side.

Using the lens is tricky until you get used to it. The "mark" for focus/aperture is on the side (90* from the top) when using an adapter.

I also have an Industar-61 53/2.8, one of the most highly regarded of the Soviet lenses, they say. Haven't tested that one out yet.

Thanks guys, yeah I really like the subtle effects it gives.

You don't need an expensive camera, a point and shoot with a manual focus and photoshoot cs6 and you'll be good to go.

I love the body work on this car. It screams beater, but the super smooth long tube header and rear drag radial says otherwise.

Shot my Hasselblad for the first time. Minor light leak on the back. Not a huge deal but I'll replace the seals eventually. Also in that album is some B&W shots shot on my F5. Nothing out of the ordinary I'd say.

The Distagon 50mm I'm using is damn sharp. I can see fantastic sharpness even after scanning it (usually lose a bit that even LR sharpening can't fix when scanning).

My two favorites.

First two I edited mildly to bring out the contrast, the rest were edited to represent the physical print as best I could.

The sun was setting on my woman's lanai, and was casting some nice shadows on this plane statue.

Was walking around the mall and shot these from outside the front door.

And these were from a Memorial Day car show I showed up too late to. Tried panning a handheld 3lb camera at 135mm on a 1/8" shutter speed. There were 6 other shots like this, and these were the only two that came out decent (hair on the Bel Air is from the photo lab's print, not my scanning).

The airplane is epic! I love these!

Agreed, up the contrast a bit on these. You're other photos are awesome!

Sorry, a bit late to this thread, dug up a few old photos...

The engine: old T-Max 400 I had to use up. Nikon F501, Nikkor S non-AI modified for AI, f1.4, 1/15, human tripod, heavily cleaned up and corrected (The Nikon CoolScanIV I was using was very dirty at the time).

The post and rope: New at that time Ektachrome 100, same camera setup as above, untouched (aside the copyright blah).

The mugshot: Bad photo, but funny story that directly relates. My buddies and I made permanent hall passes and had the faculty approve them at my middle school so we could go to the front of the lunch line, get lunch and go back to the photo lab to play with photography. We would pretty much just develop film. We took the mugshots on film, printed it using a typical BW printing process (Do you know how hard it is to print 6 0.75" x 0.75" photos on 1 sheet of photo paper when you're 13?!?!) and glue them to the hall passes. Just to be cute we typed up the hall passes using the only type writer left in the building. I'd have to look long and hard to see if I still have that hall pass..

The last one is my oldest friend and I playing flash multiple exposures because we didn't have a multiple exposure camera. It was done in my crawl space because we didn't have any other place that was dark enough.

I like film. I only ever take digital photos with my iPhone anymore, but still carry the F501 and the same 50mm non-AI lens...

Film is definitely too fun. I've paled down my collection to my F5 and EL/M, but still have a few bodies I can't really get rid of (mainly because they're not worth much).

Gonna print a few of my shots, just not sure which.

Also, once I get some more amber jugs to store my chemicals, I can FINALLY start developing.

I'm starting to shoot more digital again thanks to the miracle of mirrorless. I need a wide Nikkor though. My widest is a crappy Vivitar 28/2 with loads of color fringing. Actually I just bought a Sigma AF 18/3.5. Supposed to be pretty decent at f/4, and much sharper at f/8. OH and I got an adapter for my Hasselblad lens. That should be fun.

What do you shoot? Nikon's are ridiculously cheap if you have the lenses... Been looking at FA's and FE's for less than $150 on ebay... I have to say, this is the only reason I like Nikon and Leica over other systems. They're lenses are compatible all the way back to 1958, with most of those lenses being rather inexpensive. Yes, I know there are many which aren't compatible, but so many are, whereas Canon changed their mount in the 70's. Leica I believe has had the same mount for a while but they've always been out of my price range so I don't even go there...

Another photographer, the twist is this one has downs syndrome.
What makes this so uplifting is that he is rather good.
Well done his mother for positivity.

Lots of wildlife and nature stuff. Not bad.

My buddy that owns a shop is friends with a special needs teacher, who teaches photography. He recently had some shots on the wall by the students. Some of them were actually pretty nice.

Trying to find models when you don't have all that much cash on hand is tough! I am talking with a model I worked with previously, and I may have a shoot with her in September (TFP). Problem is she is 17, if I recall, and I want to do a bit sexier shoot. So I gotta keep looking I guess. Like a boudior shoot, but not quite as revealing. Just a nice portrait session with a touch of skin (maybe implied nudity, but nothing showing). Hmm, the search is on!

Some more from the beach session:

Apex was complaining earlier about fungus on his Tamron rear element.
Invest in one of these lens ring wrenches
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-Tips-DSL...item3f3a8d3589
and clean that fungus off before it munches through the lens coating.
(Tip: when dismantling use a small sticker on the outside of the element as a flipped element will cause chaos.)

Just had a lot of my 35mm gear stolen by burglars along with my power tools
Grrr

Anyway
Luckily I still have a couple of cameras with lens sets (Olympus OM10 and a couple of Minoltas) that were elsewhere and it has spurred me to try a bit of monochrome work.

Do you reckon it is better to shoot color and photoshop down to monochrome or to go for black and white film. Would using B&W film give notably better results?
