Gas smell and erratic idle

!!

Guys n gals,

Alright, so, I got my carbs cleaned and new spark plugs this past week (Before this, my bike wouldnt start up at all, even with a fresh battery).

So I'm experiencing 2 issues right now.

1. There is a very pronounced gas smell coming from the bike when its running. (from the middle of the bike , not near exhaust area....lolz)

2. The Idle RPM is very erratic. it jumps between 1000-3500rpm... so when Im riding around town (choke is off ofcourse) I gotta be carefull so my bike doesnt die because the idle rpm (stop light) it drops at 1000 and its close to dying so I gotta open up the throttle sometimes to prevent this !

So whats happening here ??

Loose carb boots. Spray either some starting fluid or carb cleaner around them while the engine is running any change in engine speed indicates a leak. Make sure the boots and clamps are on correctly.

I checked the boots and couldn't find any leaks by spraying carb cleaner . They look snug n installed properly. Any other suggestions ?

The bowls may be overflowing due to defective valves or floats out of adjustment.
That can happen only when the engine is running, due to vibrations.
