[American Motorcyclist Association] - MAD Maps to sponsor Ashland Dinner Ride during

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- Participants on the Saturday, July 11, AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days dinner ride to the vintage dirt track race at Ashland Country Fairgrounds will enjoy a special gift from AMA member benefit partner MAD Maps.

MAD Maps will provide each ride participant with a high-quality riding map of the Ohio-Kentucky-West Virginia area. This map features routes that cater to motorcyclists, with 28 weekend getaways and day trips, focusing on scenic highways and byways.

"AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days attracts some of the most enthusiastic riders in the country," said MAD Maps Chief Product Officer Jenny Lefferts. "MAD Maps aren't your ordinary road maps. We develop our rides with the help of local road scouts who know the back roads like the back of their hand. Our scouts are our product. Instead of relying on satellites in the sky, our development depends on real people on the ground. We are especially thankful to all the AMA members who have helped us compile ride information over the years."

The Ashland Dinner Ride, presented by MAD Maps, is an annual tradition at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. For a $35 donation to the Hall of Fame, participants ride from Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to the Ashland County Fairgrounds, enjoy dinner at the track, and then stay for the races, which will feature period-correct classes. AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days Grand Marshal David Aldana will participate in the vintage racing.

MAD Maps also will provide the first 500 AMA members who show their card at the AMA Oasis in the infield at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course a free "Get Outta Town" MAD Map for the Columbus, Ohio, area.

MAD Maps (www.madmaps.com) feature color-coded routes with inter-connectable trip options, water- and tear-resistant paper, national parks, roadside attractions, roadhouses, visitor information and turn-by-turn directions. Thanks to the AMA's partnership with MAD Maps, AMA members can purchase MAD Maps at a 20 percent discount off the regular advertised price. For the discount code, see the Members Only section of www.americanmotorcyclist.com.

For 2015, AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days is a fundraiser for the facility, which houses the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and other thematic exhibits that celebrate motorcycling's heritage.

AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer David Aldana is the grand marshal for AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days this year. One of the most colorful personalities in racing, Aldana teamed with Mike Baldwin to win the prestigious Suzuka eight-hour endurance race in 1981 as a Honda factory rider. He also was one of the most versatile racers in history, competing in nearly every form of motorcycle racing, including motocross and speedway racing.

The museum was founded in 1990 to provide a permanent home to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, which celebrates and preserves the rich tradition of motorcycling in America through the recognition of the sport's greatest heroes. Proceeds from AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days are donated to the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization tasked with funding the operation of the museum and Hall of Fame activities.

AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days includes North America's largest motorcycle swap meet with parts, bikes and memorabilia from all eras. Bike shows bring out examples of some of history's most beloved motorcycles, while stunt shows, such as the American Motor Drome Wall of Death, and demo rides of current production bikes keep attendees entertained. Seminars feature some of the country's leading experts on numerous motorcycling topics.

It all adds up to one of motorcycling's premier events. Purchase tickets now from Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
