08 Ninja 250 Cluster Gauge clear plastic (glass?) cracking
I finally minted out my bike, and today, since it's been warmer, I noticed a small crack on the clear plastic or glass that covers my fuel gauge. At first I got mad because I thought someone or something hit it. But w/ closer inspection I realized it looks like a very small internal crack that's starting. Has anyone experienced this? It hasn't even been hot, whatsoever, and the bike is kept inside.
Worst case scenario, is it hard to replace a cluster / cluster clear plastic? I see nice clusters online for cheap, less than $100. I know I can swap it but will the ODO have to be adjusted? |

A few weeks later: Hasn't gotten worse w/ the warm weather. Barely noticeable, so I guess I will live with it. I'm still unsure what caused it but I've seen a few reports of it happening. Oh well.

From the photo it doesn't look like a spontaneous crack, it looks like something gouged it. Can you feel it on the outside, or is it really only inside?

It's fully flat on the outside. If you were blindfolded you wouldn't feel a thing. It's the weirdest thing, like an interior pressure crack. I'm just learning to live with it. As long as it doesn't get worse, it's ok.

Replacing the cluster's clear plastic is doable. Ensure the new cluster matches your bike's model. ODO adjustment might be necessary.
