not so twisty twisties?

Hi All,
It was a beautiful SoCal/LA weekend and I actually made it up to the Crystal Lake Cafe at the top of Route 39 (Azusa Ave.). This being my first canyon run, I was pretty nervous about all the turns and coming back down. I took my time and my speed minding the loose gravel, traffic, and all. And WOW, that was so much fun! Can't wait to try that again!

Do any of you veterans riders out there have any suggestions for other LA area twisties (that aren't TOO twisty) that are safe for newbies to try out?

Thank you!

Los Angeles Crest is very nice, and not too crazy. I go up there every now and again. Hit me up for a ride sometime

yes it is!
I had to go pretty slow at times being the newbie that I am.
Saw a guy with a dainese suit and a cbr600 dragging a knee on some pretty tight corners. That guy has balls of steel.

I'm probably going to go for a ride to the LA Crest this sunday if any of you want to go on a group ride. They've got a little cafe up at the top of the road. Pretty good.

oooOOO! thanks for the website and video gitoy.

GMR looks crazy on the map, but when i muster enough courage, i'll head over there. nowhere near knee dragging yet. haha!

might try angeles crest when it gets a little warmer up there. looks like a really nice ride. i think it's going to rain this weekend.

have you guys tried little tujunga canyon? wonder if that is any good for newbies.

I just went up Angeles Crest for the first time the other day for my first twisty run. I'd love to put a group ride together and run it again. But weekends are a no-go for me

Tujunga Canyon is just as twisty as the Los Angeles Crest. It actually connects into LA Crest. Only difference is the roads are a bit rough on some sections of Tujunga Canyon. Also Tujunga Canyon is right down the street from me :P
