Generic Passenger Helmet Size?
I was planning to get just a half-helmet which I could carry with me and let the occasional around-town passenger use. The trouble is that I don't have just a single person who would be riding with me, and so I'd hoped that perhaps there's a size that fits most people? I had hoped that with a half-helmet it'll be easier for more than one person to wear. Of course, I would ensure that it did fit well enough before having them just jump on, but I didn't want to have to buy 3 extra helmets and take measurements before giving them a lift - of course, over time I could probably get the data for selecting the right size for each friend, but it still seems extravagant for something so infrequent.

No such thing as one size fits all in any kind of helmet. Sorry.

Oh, no I don't mean one size fits all, but rather an "average person is usually a large" or something like that?
That air helmet seems... interesting but I'm not sure how safe/unsafe that is in an accident. I wouldn't assume they would sell anything too bad, but I'd be nervous about it, lol! |

Medium.. I wear smalls and mediums, I've had folks that wear large shove my medium on, if you aren't hauling folks with huge heads on the regular, I would go with medium

I have the air pump system in my Scorpion Exo 1000. My lid is a medium (58cm) but it's nice and snug on me so I don't inflate the system. I guess that might mean if you went that route you'd want to pick a size larger to allow for the air system to expand for those with smaller heads?

You're thinking about this backwards.
You don't need a generic helmet. You need a generic passenger.

Thanks for all the hints on average size, I think I'll probably get a medium.
While I'd love to say it's just chicks or something 'cool', I just have some situations where a friend or a family member needs a quick lift from point a to b. I wouldn't carry them long distances or high speeds, so I figured the half-helm would be fine for a 1-2 mile jaunt at 30-35mph. I just didn't want to have to buy a helmet in each size, lol. |

Get an XL and carry a box of tissues to pad it.
Or better yet, maxipads.

take the long, boring, expensive route.
buy a helmet that allows swappable inner liners, just buy all of the liners then you can test fit to see who needs to wear what size liner! |

LMAO
Think There's no so solution? You're So Stupid! There is! But seriously how old are you and how old/big are the people you normally carry around? I got an xs Bell Arrow and it has fit all the girls i've ever put on the bike with no problems. However i would probably suggest a small just in case. |

My question is....why would you get just a half helmet? The point of a helmet is to be safe in a crash, is it not? So...if the helmet was ever actually needed to serve its purpose, the bottom half of your passenger's head will be sh*t outta luck.
To me, that's like gearing up in full leathers and having your girl get on back in a bikini.... |
