Need ex250 carb diaphram

I was wondering why my 2000 ex250 would not idle without choke. Opened carbs to clean and found one diaphram rubber is torn & chewed on one side where it fits into carb body. Thanks, previous owner!
Im in DC area. Anybody have a spare?
Thnks,
Baz

Yes, this was put back in the carb in this condition by a previous owner.

I bought one off eBay and it worked fine. They sell replacements but it requires some hacking to reuse original parts

What do you mean it requires hacking to reuse original parts?
Are you talking about the diaphragm?
It doesn't fit properly and needs to be modified?
thanks,
Baz

I had a tear so I bought a replacement rubber diaphragm off of ebay and had to cut the the old and put in the new.

Question

I got the diaphragm off the slider without chopping up the plastic slider. I used a lot of WD40 and a tiny drill bit with a dremel to get the remains of the rubber out of the thin slot where the diaphragm rubber is seated. I still have to get some bits of rubber out of that slot. It's very slow going but does clean out eventually.
Do you think I still near to chop the top of the slider to get the diaphragm rubber onto the slider or will the diaphragm stretch enough to be seated in the slot?
thanks,
Baz

I want to say this member was able to. Might want to shoot him a message and ask. I don't think he has been active lately though but may be worth trying.
