Hey Mon, time to come up with the cash...enough for the bike and a Greyhound bus ticket so you can ride it home from where ever it may be. When I was young/stupid I hitchhiked.

I have enough cash for that. Unfortunately riding home a used bike without plates makes me a target to be pulled over by the popo. There are plenty of 250's for sale in my area, too bad I'm kinda picky about the color

Update: I just spoke with a seller, he's selling an 09 black 250 (5,000 miles, never downed, clear title) with shogun frame sliders for $3000, I offered him $2600 and he countered by accepting and offered to renew the inspection and throw in a bike cover. He even offered to deliver the bike if I decide to buy it. I'll be going to check it out and test drive it most likely on sunday. My fingers are crossed.

here are the pics of it posted on his ad if anyone cares to look at it:

If you happen to notice anything out of the ordinary in the pics please let me know. It seems to be legit, I even looked the guy up on facebook, lol. He said he's a mechanic and did all the maintenance himself, I found out he really is a mechanic and the bike looks like it's in good condition from the pics, but I'll see when I go to check it out.

Another update, He got it inspected today and I'm going to look at the bike tomorrow morning and hopefully bring it home. I am about to print out a bill of sale and I have a thorough checklist to use while inspecting the bike. Is there anything you guys know of that I'm forgetting? I plan on purchasing an insurance plan online tomorrow if I end up buying the bike, then going down to dmv right after to transfer the title, tag and register it. Anyone know if progressive sends instant proof of insurance? The dmv website says they require proof, but on the paper I need to fill out it only has a check box for it.

Early congrats! You also got the best color
I have progressive and IIRC, as long as you have a VIN, you get printable insurance cards when purchased online before your permanent ones arrive.

I am excited for you! Just be sure to have your poker face on and don't let yourself get to overwhelmed with emotion, as I know you have been patiently looking for quite some time now. I know it isn't candy blue like you wanted, but from the pictures she still looks beautiful.

What I did when I purchased SLIME-R was call Progressive and told them that I needed to add a motorcycle policy to my already existing auto policy. Due to the fact that you pay for motorcycle coverage three months at a time, that is unless you have the money to pay for it yearly, they create a separate policy number for the motorcycle. Once you have decided on your type of coverage and amount be sure to just let the agent know you need them to email you proof of insurance to take into DMV. They will then send you an email that you have 14 days to access, which will allow you to print out temporary insurance coverage cards.

Also, be sure to let them know that you have taken the MSF BRC, as that can save you any where around $50 a year, but they might ask you for proof or a card #. Also, if you already have your M1 endorsement be sure to let them know as well because that could save you any where around $200 a year. If nothing else just be sure to ask the agent what discounts you qualify for and what discounts would be available.

Good luck!
