In need of 250 engine

Well, for those of you who didn't see my previous post, I've been having a hell of a time getting my baby fixed up. She's finally in the hands of someone who knows what to do with her (Andy at AP Motorarts), but the bad news is that the entire top end of one of the cylinders is busted, and Andy says a good-quality used engine will be about the same cost as a rebuild. So if anyone happens to have a good-quality used 250 engine that they're willing to sell relatively cheap (either in the Los Angeles area or shipped to it), please let me know!

Cap'n, im assuming you need a 2007 or older engine? if you need a 2008+, I've got two extra motors, one with 244 miles (has a cracked right side engine cover, and one of the bolts is sheared off and needs to be machined out) and another with 500 miles in perfect shape.

I frankly wasn't aware the engines weren't cross-compatible. Yeah, 2007 or earlier (pregen).

if Kawinoob doesn't work out I have 2 engines in SLO was told they were pulled running. They have been sitting but with no fluids or anything in them. I know nothing about them. Other than through word of mouth. I haven't touched them.

If you come pick it up give me $20 and some beer and we will call it good or paypal me $30 + shipping don't know how much that'll cost though. These are complete motors with starters etc.

I'll also be down in Big Willows Friday night and Saturday if you wish to do that.

Holy ****, sold. Happy to do either shipping or pickup/beer, I can borrow a car to come get 'em. Offer's really appreciated, I'm unemployed right now and the bike was my only transportation - hard to look for work without wheels, and hard to fix a bike without cash.

Be out in Rosamond Saturday, I guess! Any advice on what I should bring to tie 'em down for transportation?

uhh, actually shipping a 250 motor only costs about $80-$100 if you ship FedEx Ground (I do it all the time). The motor weighs 75 pounds, try to keep total shipping weight around 100 pnds. Use a sturdy tupperware container (like the ones with the yellow lid found at home depot for $14 to box it up, zip tie the lid to the box. slap a label on it and bam.
