The TV I got last year is the Samsung UN55D7000....they have come out with newer models of course but this is still a pretty nice TV. My two early graduation gifts to myself last year were the TV and the ninja...Now I'm just gonna connect the 2 with my videos once i get the GoPro Hero 2. About to order it from amazon as we speak....should be here by monday. I may even get an extra Hero 2 and get the 3D setup to see how amazing it looks on the tv so I can sit at home on a rainy day and still rip through some curves haha

Just a heads up for anyone else on the market for a GoPro Hero 2.....just ordered the GoPro Hero 2 Motorsports edition with a 32GB Class 10 SD Card and with 2 day shipping the total came out to $279.74. It's eligible for free Super Saver Shipping and takes 5-8 business days but you'd end up paying only like $260 for both of the items.

Hero HD sucks ass in the night. Can't see crap. very grainy and a whole lot of distortion and artifacts. the HD2 is 10x better and you can actually see the video.

Hero vs Hero 2 during the day isn't that noticeable, but it's there.

Nighttime, on the other had, is night and day (pun intended).

Nope. It's new hardware in the camera that makes the HD2 the bomb diggity. I do notice a change in daylight quality with the HD2 though. Appears to be more whiteness (brightness) maybe?

@Mountain Dew good comparison vid find!

Nice comparison, though my gopro doesn't seem to be that awful at night but the gopro 2 is a clear winner for night shots.

I rode with both a hero and hero 2 on my bike at night, couldn't ready the gauges with the hero but could kinda see the needle, but with hero 2 I read the numbers.

It seems as though you guys can get your GoPro's so much cheaper than here in Australia. For the GoPro HD Hero 2 Motorsports Edition from a retail shop here your looking at paying AUD $399

For me, I make videos for my own enjoyment, most likely none of them will ever see a 55" high end HDTV and so the enhancements to video image just won't be worth the price when I could instead get 2 Gopros for the price for the price of a Gopro 2.

And even if I put my gopro vids on a nice TV the images will still be phenomenal, this thing looks ****ing awesome. I mean especially when I compare it to the quality of my Contour Roam, the Gopro has way better video than the contour.

Oh one other thing, does anyone know how the gopro 2 handles low light? My gopro sucks with low light stuff, I mean even my $60 kodak out performs the gopro in low light conditions. Any improvements on the gopro 2?
It has a new sensor the low light performance of go pro 2 is much better. Enough to justify the cost IMO. But I won't be shooting in dark so just like you I bought two HD hero rather than one hero 2

You are correct I didn't. I gave you the argument because I take uncompressed 1080p video from my dslr and it blows YouTube 1080p out of the water like you said. My use for the gopro is not for that hence I can't justify the extra expense on the hero 2. To each his own

@alex.s I just read that the hero 2 can only do 1080 at 30 FPS. Was there some software update that enabled it to do 1080 at 60 FPS that came out? I guess it's looking like a better option to do the 720 at 60 FPS if the hero 2 can only handle 1080 at 30 FPS.

I read it on this website:
http://pointofviewcameras.com/gopro-...2-outdoor.html

I even went to the gopro website and under the hero 2 feature it says 1080 at 30fps

So in your opinion would the 720 at 60fps setting be the better setting than the 1080 at 30fps?

Oh....sorry, I completely forgot to post where I got it from. I got it from amazon. The good thing is that they are the actual seller too so I don't have to deal with some other third party company selling through amazon if something were to happen with the order. Should be here by Monday. Can't wait!!!

on a motorcycle you need 60fps. it looks like crap at 30fps. i might be biased. the past few months at work ive been optimizing graphics code so the difference between 30fps and 60fps is very apparent to me even though i guess most people dont notice it at all
