specific front stand question

I am trying to decide on a front stand. We have a Vortex rear but now need a front. Pitbull has one that has the rollers hooking up on the bottom of the forks. Vortex has the pin up top model. Pin model would seem better for more applications.

Question: with my bike being lowered... will there be clearence to use that Upper pin style???
Anyone have one, Anyone know? Thanks,!!

I've got the pitbull one with the pin that fits in the triple-tree. The bar holding it up sits flush with the top fairing (right underneath the headlight), so I have a feeling it would fit just fine. How many inches clearance are there when the bike is at rest between the top of the fender and that bottom part of the front fairing (that black piece under the headlight assembly)? If there's at least 3", I think you'll have no issue sliding it in there.

Alex, did you have to remove anything (horn, fender, etc.) to use the pitbull stand?

I just felt an earthquake.

Z-

With my pin type front stand and the front end lowered, I couldn't get the stand out with out scratching the top of the front fender. So, every time I would lift the front of the bike, I would remove the front fender. Six hex head screws to take it off... very easy.

hope this helps.

yeah, before I lowered the front, lifting with the triple tree stand was pretty easy... no problems. The night I installed the lowering blocks, I found I couldn't get the stand out w/o scratching the fender.

Since that time, each time I use that front stand, I remove the fender.

Go for the head lift stand, I also have the DMP S-spec it works real nice.

The ones that use the bottom of the forks are OK, but sooner or later you will have to work on the forks. < Atleast I did
