Has anyone noticed... and wondered?

...why the clymer manual for the 250r lists the mixture screw settings as different between the two cylinders?

The spec sheet says to set one of the carbs to 2.5 turns out, and the other carb to 1.75 turns out. Reason behind this?

I was inspecting things today and found it clever that kawasaki (presumably) left an oil drain hole from the spark plug galley to the tiny hole on the front of the head near the exhaust port exit. That way if the spark plug galley every fills with oil, it will drain to the exterior of the engine. Clever.

Another odd discovery --- there's a passage in the exhaust port which connects to a dead-end passage in the spark plug valve cover dowel pin gasket. Maybe it has something to do with exhaust port resonance back pressure tuning. This probably won't make any sense to most of you nice folks. If it does make sense and you figured out what the hole was for, do share.

Maybe it's an effect generated by the firing order, due to the crankshaft being a flat-plane type. The EX250's cylinders fire only 180 degrees apart then there's nothing for the next 540 degrees. The EX250's engine is a "Big Bang" configuration. That means the two cylinders do their "breathing" under very different conditions. Of course this would be very pronounced at idle and less so at high RPM.

Maybe the difference between idle mixture screws is due to the newgen uses different size needles? IDK
