Movin up
I rode my 250 from TX to VA. Loved the ride and the little ninja did just fine all though the constant running at high rpm to match I40 traffic took some getting used too.
(Anyone live in Memphis? What is that Glass Pyramid about? Big thing. You can see it as you cross the Mississippi River coming into TN from AR.) Long story short, I decided I really wanted a larger bike (I am 6'1, 200lbs) but still stay in the same playground the 250 offered. I picked up a 2008 Metallic Diablo Black 650R. Bike has 4000 miles on it and has been taken care of. I bought it for $4500. The original owner added Pazzo levers, Progrip tank protector, progrip handle bar grips, rear tire hugger, and rear fender eliminator. Oh and he ditched the stock bars for clip-ons. I will take photos later today and post them up. I will continue to hang out (lurk mostly) which is what I have pretty much done since I got here anyway. P.S. My son was pissed when I sold the 250 ($3500). He was really hoping I would give it to him. |

Congratulations on the new bike.
The Glass Pyramid is a museum that constantly changes the theme to keep things fresh. The last time I was there they had a display of bikes from the early days up to the modern bikes. Great place to visit. http://www.ninjette.org/forums/album.php?albumid=143 |

Not sure about it beinga museum but I do know it is an arena that they have concerts, etc. in. It's called "The Pyramid". I grew up in AR so sometimes we would head to Memphis to go to concerts there in my younger days.

Ah cool. Thanks for the info. I wanted to stop but it was during that heatwave and I was desperate for a AC and fluids so I didn't make it to the Pyramid for a better look. Ended up at the Hooters in downtown Memphis.
Some picks. Gassing up in Lubbock for the trip. The aforementioned Pyramid can be seen in the background. The new bike. All these were taken with my cell. I will try to get a better pic. |

I believe Lisa is correct. It is a multi purpose building and at the time of my visit it was a museum of sorts. Thanks for the correction Lisa.

Like the N-650 alot (good choice) but there's just something about those "red rims"

Yeah, the pyramid used to be a venue like a civic center. I competed there in the Xtreme Freestyle Championships (RC Airplane Aerobatics) a few years back. But they closed it down the next year, and now its a museum of sorts.

Congrats on the 650. Every time I go to the dealership I sit on one. I'm seriously thinking this may be my next bike. I'm starting to get the itch for something with a wee bit more power on the freeway. I really want to keep the baby Ninja as well. We'll see! Enjoy!
