The lady's ZZR600

My girlfriend sold her 07 Ninja 250 and bought an 07 ZZR600. This is basically a build/repair thread for her bike.

2007 Kawasaki ZZR600
13k miles
Two brothers Slip-on exhaust
dropped a few times
poorly painted black windscreen

Things done since bike was bought:
  • crappy rear LED turn signals for better short stalk LEDs
  • replaced the front bent wheel
  • replaced the bald rear tire with a decent take-off
  • did an oil change
  • lowered the front and rear suspension
  • bled the brakes
  • replaced broken clutch lever
  • replaced faulty clutch switch

To Do:
  • Install PINK LED lights as a birthday present
  • Install sound system
  • valve job
  • Install adjustable/foldable levers
  • Install registration sticker plate
  • Clean and lube Chain
  • repair cracked radiator coolant reservoir
  • spacer for swing arm spools
  • degrease and wash the bike
  • replace windscreen
  • replace bar ends

I rode it and got a speeding ticket a few weeks back heading a friend's funeral. $320 ticket for going 103 mph in a 70.

Pulled most of the fairings off the bike today. Looks like Majority of the fairings have been replaced due to a spill. The only fairing that seems to be OE is the left side. The right side headlight tab is broken so it cant be secured to the fairing stay nor to the fairing. It's also missing a rubber spacer for the left side rearview mirror. Going to be placing order for missing bolts and misc pieces.

Installed 4 LED strips per fairing side. Pink is really not that bright. I should have went with purple. I might add another strip to each side. I still need to figure where else on the bike to add some strips.

Well Spent a few hours today cleaning up the chain and surrounding. 4 years of dirt and grime caked onto the chain. Chain has never looked so good now! Also finished wiring up the LEDs to battery. I still have 4 strips left to use so I got to figure out where else to put them. Any suggestions? I also got to set the suspension. The rear is so squishy. Somehow the bolt for the brake fluid cap retainer thing backed out and is missing. I was lucky enough to find the bracket hanging on top of the radiator.

I wonder how many people clicked on this thread thinking they would see a girl... LOL

Lucky that they didn't impound the bike and take you to jail... at least thats what they would probably do around here. Anything over 100 is a felony offense

Be careful out there

The only reason he didn't take me in because he saw that I was ex military and he was too.

I attempted to do a night video of the bike but the Go Pro really sucks at recording in low light conditions. I need to figure out where else I use up the LED strips. I also added some chinese tire fire flies.

Her bike had died on her on our Austin trip as we were heading back to the townhouse. Friends and I concluded that the fuel pump relay had gone out since we jumped the fuel pump straight from the battery and it worked. Well I installed the new fuel relay today and it didn't work. Jumped the fuel pump directly to the battery and it didn't work. Took the cover off the fuel pump and saw that the solder had broken off the ground. Resoldered it and it works again! Now I just gotta recharge the battery so I can start it again. Hope there isn't any other underlying issue.

Bike has a total of 18 LED strips. GF wants 4 more. 2 for eyebrows and two to light up the rear tailight section. Cleaned the chain and waxed the bike today too. Removed a Monster sticker off the gas tank since it was peeling at the edges. Also ordered misc stuff that that the bike was missing--misc bolts and new fuel filter from ronayers.com

Bike looks good! IDK how I'd feel about my GF being on a bigger bike than me though.

What're chinese fireflies? Google didn't know. =/

Yeah, a lot of people are confused when they see me on my 250 and her on the 600 It doesn't bother me one bit.

The fire fly things are just valve stem lights:
