speedometer sticking

Hi everyone something just started on my 2010 250 the speedometer needle sticks from a dead start not everytime. I have to tap the gauge to get it to start to work.I have read about people lubing the inside of the gauge. But when I look at the service manual it looks like even with the cluster out and appart you can,t get inside it. I'm confused

Try using some heat from sunlight concentrated via a magnifier on the base of the needle.

It is normally the needle what touches either the dial or the glass.

Check this article, just in case deeper surgery will be needed:

So let me get this right I take a magnifying glass and hold the rays at where the needle mounts in the speedo like burning a bug?. How long do you hold it there I'm affraid I will melt the needle. Have you done this before?
