That is a MASSIVE chain... I never really paid attention to the overall size of a 530 until your installation pic haha. That rear sprocket/chain set looks really solid though.
What kind of numbers are you getting on the strip?

It's practically a chain made out of chains!
Also that gas cap looks awesome. I wanted to get one of the driven ones, but it wouldn't work with my tank bars

Stretched isn't really my thing, and apparently not too popular on this forum in general, but I gotta say this is probably the best 14R I've ever seen. Simple, clean and functional. No retarded super fancy single sided swing arm with a 300+ tire on it and ridiculous chrome everywhere lol. + you fit the bike and you've put a ton of work into it.

And there is actually a LOT more work put into it than what is in this thread. My build thread since October is here; http://tampasportbikes.com/forum/sho...ps-ZX-14-Build However, it is close to being done (cosmetically). •Powder Coat bolt heads (Black) •Powder Coat Wheels (Gold) •Powder Coat Clutch/Stator Covers (Gold) •Ceramic Coat Headers (Black) •Rizoma Resevoirs (Black ) •New Seats (One stock cut down for drag racing, one Saddleman) •Kickstand Then Next year will be Suspension/Brakes and this thing will be done completely. Unless I decide to get another one and turbo this one (seriously considering). |

That gas cap looks sextacular...
Also, nothing wrong AT ALL with extending a bike that's being drag raced. I think you did a very very tasteful job extending yours. We want a vid of you and the bike on the drag strip

I'm not usually fond of the 03-04 model. That's the first one I've seen in white. Normally I think the combo of the headlights and air scoop looks like a piggy face. That one looks good.

I don't know why I even come in here... just makes me sad that I let the wife convince me to settle on my 03' 636. Don't get me wrong I am falling for my 636... I just really do still want a 14. Someday

Well... Unsurpisingly the bike is getting more gold
The wheels are currently painted, but they will be done in the same gold powderoat that the heel guards are already done in. Also, the Stator/Clutch covers will be done in the same gold. First step is to get it on the lift and secured. I never realized how hard that would be now that it is stretched... It required two people and removing parts of the lift (front wheel chock, and stopper), I may need to pick up an aftermarket front wheel chock and bolt it to this lift like some have done on the 14 forums. Then remove the parts for powdercoating The wheels still need to be disassembled, but the shop that is going to take the rubber off isn't open today, so I wasn't in a big hurry to get those done. And the last step is to take some more (mostly useless) pictures for the forums! |

So... Last we were getting ready to powdercoat the parts. If you have never actually seen powdercoating done it is actually a REALLY cool process, I knew how it was done, and how it works, but I had never seen it done before. My covers used to look like this;
Then after media blasting they looked like this (the glass sight is taped over); Ok, this is where it gets interesting, the orange thing on the left is the powdercoating gun. The top (clutch) cover is already coated, and the lower (stator) is not yet. Both coated After the oven Then about 20 min of sitting I think that it's pretty cool that the color seems to mature as it cures. And a few of them mounted for you guys ;-) |

And that brings us to these bad boys
They are currently painted, but I found out (the hard way) that the degreaser I use on my spring also happens to eat paint like it's nothing. So we will fix that in the same way as we took care of the cases :thumbs: First I removed the sprocket, rotors, and cush drive And stored them safely :fishslap: And took a small trip to the local shop that ALWAYS takes care of me! Most people just assume their service is crazy expensive, but I was so amazed at the prices that I decided it wasn't worth it for me to pick up a tire changer (came real close though!) I was just going to deal with the bearings later, but the Tech told me he would show me and the next thing I know... And then I was ready to go (with a bag full of old bearings, seals, and spacers)! And this is how we sit now till I get around to powdercoating them tonight |

I wish I had a bearing puller. That would have made doing my tapered rollers so much easier. Plus I could get my wheels PC'd. Ahhh, eventually.
