I wasn't sure if my old bearings would be good, so I got new ones

And put them where they go

This is the OEM color and the painted color

Which we promptly removed

Yadda, yadda, yadda... Boom!

My powdercoater also signs things...

Now on the rear I took a few more pictures of the process again for you guys

Now it got a LOT later by the time we finished the rear (this ended up being a 6 hour endeavor, not including re-installing bearings), so the color looks a bit off because we have nothing but artificial light.

My wife also decided to draw a cat on the inside (covered by tire) of my rim...

Now it's definitely not perfect, mosty becasue I rushed him a lot.... And he offered to redo them, but honestly I'm too impatient and want to get back to riding my bike. I may redo them if my bike ever becomes a trailer queen, but for a bike that gets the snot beat out of it regularly I'm a happy camper.

It's kind of an optical illusion. They are a few inches shorter, but they get wider as they go back. The coloring makes them hard to photograph (at least on a cell phone during lunch) because in the picture they look super long and skinny, which they aren't.

I don't like how Zx14's look. But you made it look pretty cool. I do like how they get up and GONE. That was a fun test ride at a Kawi demo day.

Lol, I've never been a huge fan of the front end. And I used to think they would get up and go... until I REALLY started modding it

No. I don't like brocks exhausts. If I was going to get one it would be a CT Dual in satin black with gold emblems, but that's not worth $2, 500.

I love letting this thread sit to "ferment" for a while then coming to see what more you've done to this beast of a bike. It's probably been stated before but what's she run in the quarter? I want to take my CBR to the drag strip so bad but I don't think I'll have her up and running by the next open race day they're having

Lol, I've got multiple bikes for a reason. I haven't made it to the 1/4 mile yet at all (local track is 2 hours each way), but the 1/8th I was running mid 6's with a bad prep before the stretch. The bike EASILY has mid 5's in it, but at my size that's kind of hard to do...

Perhaps you mean the one that cost more than both of your bikes combined, wasn't purchased 2nd hand and isn't built to squid around on?

Or do you want me to post some of the other bikes? Maybe the R1 with forged wheels and not just a cheap powder coat?

Your choice in mods don't need to please me but they certainly make me laugh at you. And no, my 'big boy bikes' don't make me understand the need for an extended swingarm because I enjoy how well they handle.

So I saw a 14 for sale on the pnw riders forum... it was pretty much the polar opposite of this bike. It was set up for, wait for it, HANDLING!

Its funny you mention that, I actually purchased a turbo for the 14 a few months ago, but decided it wasn't the size I would want and that I really need a second 14 if I was going to turbo this one. So I sold it :-P
