Dragging pegs with risers
Anyone else still dragging their pegs are installing Yoshimura risers on the highest setting?
I have my forks flush with the upper triple tree, a race tech shock that at its max length (328mm I believe) stock rear sets with Yoshimura risers on the highest setting and Rizoma pegs. My pegs are still dragging. Just wondered if anyone here has had to drop the big bucks on vortex rear sets on top of risers. Thanks in advance! |

How much do you weigh?
Might need to upgrade fork and shock springs. I'm about 86-kg and use springs about twice as stiff as stock. My Woodcraft rearsets place my pegs about same as yours, about 3cm up and back compared to stock. I also use shorter-than-stock folding pegs. So it’s actually plastic toe-covers on my boots that rub first just before pegs fold up slightly and touch. Last futzed with by DannoXYZ; September 7th, 2019 at 12:31 AM. |

I had guys on my endurance team that were up to 230 lbs and we didn't have an issue with dragging the pegs. Our aftermarket rearsets were nothing unusual as far position goes, so that shouldn't be an issue. My bike was pretty light as far as ninjettes go at around 290 lb. Stock ride height with correct spring rates that took into account the lighter bike weight. I'd say either your spring rates are way light or you need your ass off the seat a lot more in corners. Something ain't right.

I’m around 150lbs with out gear. Fork springs are .8kg and the shock is a 8.5kg. According to racetechs calculator my rear spring is a little too stiff. I might need to get off the right side a bit more too. I’ll figure this out eventually. Just wondered if anyone else fought this issue.

Yeah, I had lots of rubbing in beginning, that's when I went to Woodcraft rearsets, then shorter folding pegs. Almost crashed couple times with solid-pegs jacking up back of bike.
As tgold mentioned, take look at how much you're actually leaning bike. Hanging off on inside can reduce bike-lean by 10-degrees or more. Have someone follow you on track and get video. Last futzed with by DannoXYZ; September 13th, 2019 at 03:33 AM. |

Thanks for the input guys. There’s no shortage of things I could do better at the track. Just wondered if anyone else here has had to deal with this issue.

I was dragging 'em on my 250 with stock pegs and yosh risers. Dragged using woodcraft rearsets as well. Since cutting my woodcraft pegs down a section havent dragged since.
Cutting pegs gets you more clearance than raising the pegs. |
