Important oil filter info for Aussie Ninja Owners
I recently did an oil and filter change, using one of the Supercheap Auto's "Race Performance" RP401 filters. It seemed ok at the start, and then I found that it was taking longer for the oil pressure light to go off, the worst and most recent being 10 seconds for an engine that had been ridden on about 3 hours before. As a test, I purchased a Ryco RMC128 from Auto One and installed it. Even from being empty I had oil pressure within 3 seconds.
I know from reading the wiki that Hiflo Filtro filters have an issue of this type - I wonder if these RP filters come from the same factory? I cleaned the filter screen also, it had silicone from the clutch job the previous owner did and a bit of thread. No metal or anything hard. |
