The Ride With Us Moto Intros program will be held at all four Overland Expos, helping attendees their first taste of motorcycling.

For Overland Expo participants looking to take their first motorcycle ride, the Ride With Us Moto Intros initiative will be available at all four expos in 2022. (Overland Expo/)To ease the challenge for those facing that first ride, the Motorcycle Industry Council’s (MIC) Ride With Us program launched the Moto Intros initiative last year. The program, which guides new riders through their first motorcycle experience, was a success and expands into newer markets for 2022.

This year, the Ride With Us Moto Intros program will be featured in all Overland Expo events in the West, Pacific Northwest, Mountain West, and East.

“We had an overwhelmingly positive response last year to our Ride With Us initiative and we are looking to bring the Moto Intro experience to even more people this year,” MIC Vice President of Market Expansion Cinnamon Kernes said. “There is nothing quite like experiencing your first dirt bike and our Moto Intro coaches help create a fun, pressure-free environment, giving everyone the opportunity to try.”

The Overland Expo calls itself “the world’s premier event series for adventure travel enthusiasts.” It provides a weekend playground for not only ADV motorcycle riders but four-wheel-drive automotive enthusiasts, a target audience for future motorcyclists.

The current Overland Expo event schedule:
  • Flagstaff, Arizona: May 20–22 (Overland Expo West)
  • Redmond, Oregon: July 8–10 (Overland Expo Pacific Northwest)
  • Loveland, Colorado: August 26–28 (Overland Expo Mountain West)
  • Arrington, Virginia: October 7–9 (Overland Expo East)
During the Ride With Us events, Motorcycle Safety Foundation-certified coaches will assist new riders in everything from providing guidance on riding techniques to using the controls properly. The MIC makes this program simple for Overland Expo attendees, providing all gear and dirt bikes required. Newbies can show up with their driver’s license and get to it.

“The Ride With Us Program is a great fit for Overlanders. MIC provides all the gear, bikes, and coaches, giving our attendees yet another way to experience an adventure,” Overland Expo Motorcycle Community Coordinator Eva Rupert said. “Our events focus on education and preparing people for their travels. These Moto Intros, which give our attendees their first dirt bike ride and help them explore the possibilities on two wheels, are perfect for our audience.”

Ride With Us participants must be 18 years old or older, or 16 with parental permission, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to ride a bicycle. For additional information and tickets, visit Overland Expo.
