Welcome @ninjazeus, I'm not sure if it's still open or not, but if you do get an EFI kit, head over to the install thread. Myself, along with others who are ecotrons users, are willing to help.

I've worked out some fuel/ignition maps and am willing to help anyone who asks.

Depends in what aspect you're asking about. There's plenty of differences between carbs and fuel injection, but once it's warmed up and you're riding, there's no difference at all between decently tuned fuel injection and nicely tuned carbs.

The only difference that I think is really large is the fact that the fuel injection adjusts to the air temp. My carbs were jetted very nicely for about 70 degrees F; when it was 90, the bike was rich, and when it was 30, the bike was not as rich as I would want. The fuel injection is good at whatever temp you want to ride at. I'm happy with my EFI setup now that I've worked out the rich map and am getting the performance I want.

I will say one thing though:
If you're serious about buying a kit, go read through the write-ups on installs and read through some of our tuning experiences etc. As with any modification to your bike, know what you're getting into before you buy it.

You've made a couple threads that say you have limited access to tools. This install requires taking off the tank/carbs/headers/air box/etc and then installing the whole kit. It's somewhat invasive for a few days during installation.

It looks like there's plenty of interest here. Someone step up, contact Matt from ecotrons, and setup a group buy if he thinks they can handle it now.

His email is ecotrons@gmail.com

I'm very tempted myself. My 2006 carbs are acting up and I need to do something. But I'm not sure if I can swing it financially. I already have EFI on the 2007.

That's good to hear. Anyone else ready for another group buy? There will be a $15 deposit this time so it should be more orderly.

Link is up, I can't make a new thread yet.

$15 deposit is required, payment can be made on the Ecotrons website. The item is at the bottom under the normal price.

5 people = 20% off = $480
10 people = 25% off = $450

Shipping to US address: $20 .

I can create the thread for you, but I am curious as to why there is a deposit? The last time we did it, we collected names and then Matt sent paypal invoices to everyone and we all paid in full.

I would also suggest that you set a max closing date, like March 31, after which the deal is off. To carry it forward forever is not fair to Matt (ecotrons).

March 31st sounds good, Matt said the ending date is up to us.

We thought a deposit would be a good idea since it would let Matt prepare the shipping info ahead of time as well as keep people firmly in the GB. I've had too many experiences with flakers.

There's a lot of new ninjette users here who are in on this. I foresee a lot of panicked posts about 'omg my bike isn't running right'. Just look at how wrong the PO of Lolibater's bike was on the install...

A note to those who are getting in on this new GB: Research the heck out of installs of this kit. You want to have a good idea of what you're getting into before you install.

We're all here to help. n4mwd has a great DIY video for the hardware. Igk has a good knowledge of how fuel injection systems work. I have some tables for desired lambda, ignition angle, and warm-up enrichment based on engine temp. But we can only do so much. You have to know the basics of a fuel injection system and how each part works. But it's great once you have it set up right
