Fuel Gauge not working

So I'm finally finishing up all of the work on my bike. One of the last hiccups is the fuel gage's unwillingness to cooperate. And yes, I do have that little wire clip thing attached. My main concern comes from this: On my fuel tank, I currently have a total of THREE tubes attached. Two are going to the petcock, and one is a vacuum tube going to the left side of the tank. Now it looks like there is a place one the fuel sensor thing on the bottom of the tank for another tube, but all of my tubes are going somewhere. So am I missing a tube? Am I retarded?

that 3rd one on left side of tank, is your gas overflow tube, it runs down next to the rear shock, points down to the ground (aka 250Rs Penis).

I took out my carbs to clean them, while putting bike back together, I have a hose from between the carbs... that I could remb goes to where. I connected it to the "FUEL SENSOR" (black) under the tank, right side, but my bike dont even start now. I dont even remb if anything goes to it.

My 2009 ISNT the california model, is yours?

No mine is not the CA model. So you're saying there is a tube that goes to the black fuel sensor under the tank?

no, i "thought" there was... so i connected a vaccum hose from the carb, to the black fuel sensor thinking it would solve my bikes problem.

its clear that, that nothing is to be connected to the black fuel sensor except for the WIREs that plugs into it, lol.

What do you mean by not working? Doesn't read full, always says empty, etc?

Your issue is probably electronic then and shouldn't have to do with those tubes (unless your tank is actually empty ). The easiest thing to check is the fuel sender connector which has a green tab is connected.

It should only connect one way and clicks into the other tab. If that's secure, you might have jarred a wire loose behind the dash.

I'm not at home so I can't just look; do the gages need taken apart to see if there is a wire loose?

I think, you only need to remove the windscreen, then the 4 chrome hex bolts on the dash (2 are used for the Mirror mounts) then that whole panel should come off to allow you access to the gauges wiring.
