2013 Mileage Contest

I didn't see the 2012 milage contest untill just recently so I'm making sure I don't miss it this time around.

Post a picture of your Odometer at the start of the year with with some type of date proof and we'll see who rides the most in a year.

I know I'm a few hours early but ill probably forget tomorrow morning and I don't want to lose the 250+ miles I plan on riding tomorrow

No I'm going livermore Mines rd over Hamilton then Mt. Hamilton to the Junction to Del puerto to Patterson to Del puerto to Mines to Calaveras and back via Palomares, redwood, plus a few others

I've been getting to many miles on the center of my tires so now its time to even out those wear bars. This will be my first test at speed with the thermo-bob and R-6 front wheel and brakes.

Ok, so this contest is not limited to 250s. All right, here goes:

2007 BMW F800S: starting 2013 with 40,412 miles

2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250: 13,367 miles

Mileage on the C-14 as of yesterday morning:

Mileage on the Ninjette as of yesterday morning:

Managed a quick 23 mile loop yesterday on the little bike, but had serious 1-sided sinus congestion and associated equilibrium issues this morning, so no ride to work today

I'm in. On a separate note, though: I think there should be different categories for ninjettes and other bikes. High mileage is cool -- it means you're getting out on your bike. But it's a hell of a lot easier to do a bunch of 500 mile days on a N1k or a 1200GS or something. 20k/year on a touring bike is nothing; 20k on a ninjette is totally respectable. Just a thought!

As long as everyone posts the odometers to each of their bikes, that will sort itself out. I'll have a mileage for each bike, and a combined mileage for the year. Meaning, when we look at everyone's mileages, it might be interesting!

its even worse looking at it from my helmet.

did see a couple of other riders, though. they didn't look as well dressed as me, unless they had heated gear they must have been cold.

the city blocked off my usual route due to an accident, and delayed me for an additional 20 min. it was starting to get real cold, lol.

Sounds like a neat contest! I'll be in as soon as I uncover mine when the snow and ice from this Canadian winter is gone. Maybe we could also say where we are from for those of us who have a shortened season. My season last year was late March (not really good until mid April) to early November.

Travis has a good point. Is this a contest for total mileage on a Ninja 250, or total mileage on all your assorted motorcycles?

My 2012 mileage thread was limited to 250s, but I didn't start the 2013 thread, so it's not clear to me what the rules are.

So, 250s only? Or all motorcycles? Or both, with separate categories for each?

Contest is for most miles you put on your bike/bikes for the 2013 year. Granted contest is for the 250/300 but other bikes can partake in on the fun.

Me neither.

2012 Start / End: 14,107 / 20,717 = 6,610 miles (10,637 Km)

2013 Start: 20,717 miles (picture taken after first trip of the year)

lol I think some people are taking this too seriously. There isn't like a cash prize at the end or anything. No need for so many rules. Starting and ending of the year miles on anything in your stable. Simple, easy, fun! And since it's just a fun contest, who cares about time stamping it? Once again, not getting anything out of it besides a pat on the back.

haha we should do a private mileage contest. That would actually be kind of fun!

and by private I mean with money and someone being castrated!

haha miles I have. If put on miles on the bike anything like I do in the cage... watch out Last year around this time I got my car at 133K I'm at 176k now And no, I didn't do any long distance trips. The most I've done is 3 trips to CT and back. Which is only like 250 miles each way.

My 2012 mileage thread was limited to 250s, but I didn't start the 2013 thread, so it's not clear to me what the rules are.

So, 250s only? Or all motorcycles? Or both, with separate categories for each?
1. The first rule of 2013 Mileage Contest is: you do not talk about 2013 Mileage Contest.
2. The second rule of 2013 Mileage Contest is: you do not talk about 2013 Mileage Contest.
3. Third rule of 2013 Mileage Contest: someone yells stop, goes limp, taps out, the ride is over.
4. Fourth rule: only one guy to a bike.
5. Fifth rule: one bike at a time, fellas.
6. Sixth rule: no shirts, no shoes, your a .
7. Seventh rule: Rides will go on as long as they have to.
8. And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first year in the 2013 Mileage Contest, you have to Ride.
