finished my project
Just finished my ninja project. A 2007 I found with low mileage. did a little headwork, GSXR shock with racetech spring , springs and emulators up front. Went for weight reduction and have it at about 250#. spent a lot of time on fueling. Big difference. This site was a lot of help in my getting information to do my build. Thanks

Looks nice.
The OEM fuel tank looks a bit out of place.... need something with better flowing lines like the rest of the bike.. |

I was thinking the same thing, but wanted to put the $ into suspension and engine at this stage. In defense of it, you can get behind it much like my gsxr.

I'm interested in the seat and how you did it.
Mine currently looks like this, with the stock seat on it. |

I attached a pic of the painted frame. Note that I removed a lot of the rear of the frame. I bent the rear arm up to create the V you see there. I gusseted the bottom with a piece of steel plate. I notched and welded a tube to tie the two sides together. That extension off the back allows the taillight to "float". You can remove the seat without having to touch the wiring. The seat came from Pete Sykes at Vintagesykles.com great guy. Ex flat tracker. This is feather weight compared to stock. reasonable pricing and custom to your specs. Hope this helps. You can use the smaller diameter tubing you remove to fit a splice as it fits perfectly inside the larger diameter tubing when you extend the tubing out straight. Just one guys interpretation, but I hope it helps.
