What over priced junk looks like

So you don't always get what you pay for... sometimes you get much less

Late last year sometime i decided i was going to treat myself and my bike to titanium alloy rear sprocket from Sidewinder Sprockets partly because it was "cool" partly because it was light and supposed to last



I figured, heck this sprocket on the 250 will be worth it, it will last and its trick.

Well turns out their stuff is crap, almost as much crap as the company and everything they claimed to be. When i noticed the wear a few months ago i went to find their website to contact them and low and behold it is gone

No surprise there after my experience with their crap, a company that operates like that won't last now a days. But live and learn, sucker born everyday, i gave them my $.

I took the POS off the other day and slapped the stock sprocket back on. I might have got 4k miles out of this over priced garbage, the stock steel sprocket has close to 10k on it and still looks new

i do miss the lower teeth count on that garbage sprocket vs the stock maybe next year i will get a new sprocket with a few less teeth, strictly steel

Just like any other metal, there are different levels of grade, and how it's used, here's some information about the subject.

I also remember looking into the titanium, but decided to go with steel JT brand, although in theory the titanium sprockets might last, wear less, the chain doesn't. And it's practice to replace all at the same time.

they advertised it as " the last sprocket you will need to buy" not that i was counting on that but i expected to last at least as long as a steel.

Always do research before buying aftermarket items. If you had Googled these guys you would have seen they have a ton of similar complaints about them.

Have you asked for a refund? How about disputing it with your credit card company or Paypal?

i did some searching and couldn't find all that much at the time funny enough. You expect a little bad press here and there about service and warranties but nothing about how my sprocket wasn't going to last a season... on a 250

Still should have avoided them...
