starter troubleshooting

Help troubleshooting starter issues ignition fuse 10 amp keeps popping and the bike doesn't crank over any ideas

If you turn the kill switch off, then plug a new fuse in does it still blow? Try it. If the fuse only blows when the kill switch is on then you have a short in the ignition coils or signal wire going to the ignition coils. One or the other. If the fuse blows with the kill switch off then the short is likely before or after the ignition switch but before the kill switch. Component wise its likely the ignition coils or ignitor. Wiring wise then its likely the br/bk wire or red wire to and from the ignition switch. Obviously its a short. Thats what blows fuses. So somewhere you have a hot ignition system wire touching the frame before the loads. Check connectors and for frayed wiring before and after ignition switch wires and kill switch wires. If it pops as soon as the bike is turned on without kill switch on then its between ignition switch and kill switch. If it pops only after kill switch is turned on then the short is after kill switch which goes to ignition coils. Hope that helps you in the right direction.
