Rear Axle Assembly.

I have been away for a little, waiting on parts and spending time working on the two outbacks and the outback forum. On the Ninja I have replaced the rear tire and cleaned up the rear brake assembly so when a hose comes in I will be able to finish the rear end and move to the front.

While looking at the rear axle yesterday I noticed a wear pattern that was circular and under the castle nut on the left swing arm, or actually on the left chain alignment. The wear indicates there may have been a washer under the castle nut at one time. I don't see this on the parts diagram.

Is the wear from wrenching or should there be a washer there?

Tia.

I can't remember if the pregen had a washer there. Free bump for someone else to look.

I appreciate that. I believe it does not, according to the schematics, but have seen pics of bikes with a washer or two. Being used as spacers, perhaps?

I don't know. I just like for my stuff to be factory so I have less to troubleshoot when there is an issue or I am learning a new vehicle. It makes things simpler.
