Headlight fuse keeps blowing
Hey there,
I have a 2008 ninja 250r, the other day I noticed my headlight wasn't working, I removed the seat etc and saw that the fuse had blown so replaced it and started the bike, the fuse blew straight away. So I turn the bike off and replace the fuse, start it up and it blows again. Have been through about 6 fuses. I can hear a clicking noise coming from what I think is the starter relay. Does anyone have any idea what the issue may be? Thanks |

Short circuit. Does the clicking stop once the fuse blows?

Does the bike start? I think you have 2 unrelated issues.

I may have been wrong about it being the starter relay clicking. According to the picture in the service manual it was that but I think the headlight and starter relay were in opposite positions. I ended up unplugging the headlight bulb, started the bike and the clicking was still there. Put yet another fuse in and restarted the bike and the high beam then worked and the clicking stopped. I put a new headlight bulb in and the problem is fixed.

Same problem!!
I have the exact same problem as the OP described. Exact, relay clicking, fuse keeps blowing and so forth. I have desperately been trying to figure it out. However when I unplug my headlights it still blows the fuse. I unplugged the switch as well and it still will blow the fuse. If I unplug the relay and or diode however it will not blow. Any ideas?? It is killing me!!
