How many speeding tickets?

so far 6 warnings and no ticket as long as you listen to them, ware your gear and be friendly they will be on there good side. 2 of the warnings were for lane splitting.

Ugghhh lets just say no tickets in a very very long time. Havent even been pulled over in quite some time.

Pretty sure no problems on the bike since I geared up and cruise right around the speed limit.

Zero on the bike, and zero in a cage! (knock on wood) However, I get the feeling that I get a more watchful eye from the police when on the bike.

Ugh. 1 in my cage (hyundai accent 1.6L dohc), 2 in previous girlfriends' cages, 1 on the 'jette. i wasn't even speeding when i got my ticket on the bike but the guy wouldn't listen. he saw a red bike in the twisties and guessed the speed way too high.

0 on the bike. I do have two (both off the hook with a traffic lawyer) in my car, but the most recent was 6 years ago.
Saving 2 minutes of time isn't worth a couple hundred dollar ticket...I don't make that much in a few minutes.

Just got a ticket...77 in a 55 on a MAJOR interstate(I75)...in the G8. $167.

-Pulled over a week ago in the G8, cuz apparently only drunks are on the road at 0330...nothing wrong, let go.

-Warning on the Ninja for speeding on a back road. I don't think he had a speed detection on me...just heard the loud area p, on a quiet country day. Although, I was indeed speeding and would have accepted a ticket.

-Speeding ticket in '02. Chevy cavalier, 92 in a 65(I80 in Iowa). Can't remember the cost, but it was bad cuz I didn't have my ins. card in the car(cop saw it was up to date).

Anyway. I speed. Not because of poor time management. Not recklessly. I just like going fast. If I get pulled over and a ticket every decade or so, that's fine.

Unfortunately, with the state of the economy, the number of tickets for minor infractions is going to increase dramatically.

**EDIT** +1 for the cops being more leniant to ATGATT riders!

Zero on the bike....although I once I passed a cop on my way to church sunday morning...he pulled me over right as I pulled into the church parking lot. So all my church buddies saw me get pulled over.

My first thought was "aw crap"....my second thought was "Saweeet".

No ticket....although I had no license, no insurance card because I accidentally left my wallet at home...and there was literally no tag on the bike.

Yeah, I got the black sheep look from quite a few people that day. My riding buddies were all..."That was awesome"...because they thought I got pulled over for hauling butt.

LOL

I got one in the cage a few years ago, cop told me wrong day to go to court, and I could not read his handwriting on the ticket. Got a warrant for that one, but I still never paid the speeding ticket, and it never went on my record.

I've got 2 on the 250, first one was 74 in a 35, and the second one was 71 in a 50. These were both on rural twisty backroads.

The police around metro NY do not seem to chase speeders at least on sport bikes. But....split a lane or change lanes without a signal and they will run you down very promptly. Me...no speed at all since '74.

None here (knock on wood) Though I've only been driving for 3 years and had the bike for 2. I had one scary moment when I was doing about 75 in a 55 and accelerating past a state trooper. It was about 5pm though and I don't think he wanted to deal with a motorcycle, so I got lucky and he didn't come after me. I try not to speed often just to keep my insurance down. I go fast on the roads where I know there are no cops.

None since about '97 in the car. None on the bike since I started riding in March last year....touch wood that's not gonna change.

We have fixed and mobile speed-cameras over here and they don't give warnings, you just get a letter in the mail with a piccie of you, your speed according to them and a fine.

Never been pulled over by the Traffic Branch on my bike, even had a motorcycle cop ride passed me one day when I was just over the limit on the M1 out of Brisbane one day..he must have been on a mission

Knock on Wood really really hard. So far since I have had my motorcycle liscense I have never been pulled over for anything on the bike, got liscense in 1990. Probably have just jinxed myself by saying that. And Haven't had one in the car since 99' in New Mexico speeding in the company van.

Two in the cage last year: 84 in a 65 which I totally deserved and a 51 in a 35 which was bull.

The first one I was just being stupid and bored on one of those really really flat, straight roads in Florida heading to the beach. Flew past a pair of cops on bikes and just pulled over to the side before one even came after me because I knew I was getting a ticket. That officer was really cool though, it was right as I started getting interested in motorcycles and we ended up talking about bikes for a bit. He bumped the ticket down to 74 in a 65 (so it was >10mph over the limit, saved me a point on the license) and sent me on my way.

The second one I was doing 51 on a road with a speed limit of 45, which then changed to 35. The cop was sitting about 50 yards down the road from the 35mph sign and got me at 51 right as the speed limit changed. This cop was pretty nice too, she wrote it up as 'failure to obey a traffic device' instead of a speeding violation. (saved me another point on the license)

Since those two I've seriously slowed down. Speeding just isn't worth it. I really really try not to speed on the bike, but I'm probably going to get pulled over one of these days for trying to stay out of blind spots by riding ahead of traffic. Even after moving to the front of the column I still get passed by people doing about 80 on the road I take to work, which has a limit of 55. Commuters are freaking nuts.

I'm guessing I have had around 20 speeding tickets, only one of them on a motorcycle.

My biggest was 87 in a 35 zone... I was driving a 1980 Ford Fiesta, which had a top speed of about 75 on level road and a 2 mile run. I tried to fight the ticket but even with the "my ticket was for a speed beyond the capabilities of the car I was driving" defense, I lost. They also tacked on reckless endangerment and trying to elude the police (yeah.... they claimed I tried to run from a crown victoria with a fiesta)... It was $700 - something in fines, 6 mos. suspension and I had to retake my driver's test (gotta love PA!) sheesh!

One on the bike, none anywhere else. 67 in a 45. Wasn't paying attention to the highway speed limit while coming into town and it went down. That and I was having too much fun going fast. Had to honor my parent's deal from when they let me get the bike and lost it for a month. I learned. 'Nuff said. Oh, and I had to pay the $134 ticket too.

I got off easy, he clocked me a few hundred feet from where the speed limit went from 40 to 35. So he wrote me up for 74 in a 40, which ended up putting 5 points on my record, but the ticket was only $160.

I wish I would have went to traffic school for it, but I did not know I could until I got my next ticket which was a couple of hours after I paid off the first one. When I got the second ticket the state trooper told me that you could go to traffic school as long as its your first ticket in a particular county. So theoretically you could go to traffic school 67 times in Alabama.

I got so many tickets when I was 18 - 23 I lost my license 3 times and was caught driving with a suspended license twice - All this in the cage. Learned by lesson and since 23 have had a clean record and never been pulled on the bike... ever.

I've been pulled over a few times due to general prejudice against sportbikes, but never charged with anything.

Also, excellent ad placement.

There's also a big difference between receiving a ticket, and then actually having to pay the ticket. Any ticket may turn out to be winnable, even those that you might not think would be possible. Here's a link to a friend who just won one of his out of persistence.

On the Ninja - 1 warning that could have been a very very bad ticket/lost bike/suspended license.

In the Jeep - tons and tons of tickets, hahaha. Apparently they all have 'expired' though, and the insurance for the Ninja went down $100 this year!
