I don't hate HD and I think the XR1200 would be fun. They build a simple motorcycle that they claim is American made (but is it 100% US made components) and they charge a premium for them. They have unending brand loyalty. They make a ton of money in accessories and apparel. What I hate is every freaking owner wandering around in black and orange Tshirt or jacket and talking as if they are part of some exclusive club and thinking that we all want to ride a HD some day. I also hate that they destroyed the Buell company. A HD friend of mine recently saw a Vulcan and commented that it had better paint, seat, and feel than his bike. Then he incorrectly stated that it can't be as fast as his bike. I wanted to tell him that is true if he unplugs one plug wire on the Vulcan but hey I will never change his mind.
