I demo'd one when they first came out.

Powerful and fun. However there were two things that stuck in my mind after the demo - Seemed to take a lot of muscle to hustle around and there is no brake lever on the bars. I'd come up to an intersection and start moving my hand to the front lever and "Hey, where is it? Oh, I need to press on the foot pedal."

Also, there is an active traction control system that keeps the inside wheel down and the rear wheel in line in an aggressive turn. I'm not sure but I think they also have ABS.

I think they would actually be pretty good for long rides or for riding two up. Katlyn would know best.

I'd own one.

No offense meant Spydergirl.
You're is actually one of the cooler one's I've seen. The red wheels were sweet. I'd sport that ride f'sho.

I just was wondering what they're all about I guess. Nobody would let me near one.

The Spyder is an incredible machine. I was fortunate enough to be able to test ride one and my response was---ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! Pricey? Hell No---compared to a Hardley- Ableson? They had to pry me off the thing. Reminds me of my old Lotus Super 7----but a hell of a lot faster. Bombardier did a super job. Spyder Girl: I am so jealous.

Was reading a couple of the spyder forums, one dude said his 12,000 mile service was quoted at 2g's!! WHAT?! now everyone else said he was getting ripped off but they all said it would cost about 1,100. Thats still a lot of cash. I wonder how difficult it is to work on these by yourself?

Depending on where you live, I'd take one of these over a small 2 seat convertible any day, especially with the optional trailer for longer trips

Just a guess... But...

I'm sure that it isn't rocket science. But It probably is labor intensive, because you have to remove all kinds of wierd stuff to reach what you're working on. I bet if you someone is patient and mechanically minded, it's no problem, just time consuming.

What is the maintanance schedule on those things? Katlyn?
