UGH Highway Squids

Coming home from my friend's house last night after helping him change oil, brake pads, and brake fluid.

Going at the speed of traffic and I see some bike lights behind me. The first buy passes to my right, but then the second guy passes me from the left and comes right in front me of and between another car and then swerves all the way into the right lane to weave around the traffic.(This is 76 which is pretty volume heavy most of the time)

This guy literally comes in 5 feet of my bike, then the van in front slows down. I slowed down a little more to give him some room, but holy crap was that close.

Then his squid buddies come in from behind. At least doing 30 over the speed of traffic.

TLDR...highway squids are annoying

Probably those GSXR clowns. Those bikes handle so well that riders always take advantage of that.

Where they wearing their squid-licious helmet?

Or was it more like this kind?

Or the shorts, flip-flop, Gixxer squid?

Squids should be more referred to as under-geared...

Just cuz they speed...

IMO, it refers to needless risk-taking in general. That's too little gear and/or stupid driving (stunting, excessive speeds, weaving, etc).

I try to stay away from them if I can. If they're riding like, you can bet they aren't concerned about OUR safety either. A couple of times I found myself surrounded by squids. Although none of them purposely threatened me, being on a 250, I was little more than a rock or something in the road that was in their way. I just moved to the right as soon as it was safe and slowed down.

Excessive speeds, I could agree on that in some conditions, weaving is for warming up your tires (unless we are thinking about 2 different types of weaves...)

through traffic weaving, okay dangerous.
In your own lane, it's to warm up the tires.

This is through traffic weaving on a very busy and crappily designed highway.

Nice one, thanks!
