Ran out of gas...

Thought I would give some of you a laugh. Me and a friend went out for a little ride to see how some new leathers I got felt. We had about an hour and half before we had to go to work. We take off and I thought I would have plenty of gas to get there and back...well I was wrong! We hoped on the interstate to head back and save some time, my friend took the first exit and as I watched him go down the off ramp....my bike shut off. So I pull to the side and sure enough Im out of gas...standing on the side of the interstate in a bright yellow one piece suit behind the local cracker barrel. Im sure the tour bus of people who were looking and pointing had a good laugh!

Any way bored at work and I thought I would share happy Saturday!

Mmmm cracker barrel, couldn't have chosen a better place to be out of gas behind. Except maybe a Hooters convention.

If you lean the bike onto the left side, enough of the gas remaining on the right half of the tank may flow into the left half as to make it to the next exit.

That happened to me last weekend. I went to Fresno for the long weekend to visit some family and on my way back, I ran out of gas on the 5 with no gas stations for miles. I was literally stuck in the middle of nowhere. Not to mention, I dropped my helmet as I was walking my bike along the side of the interstate so now my brand new helmet has scratches Nothing but farmlands for miles and miles. I passed by this creepy looking gas station but didn't want to stop there. I knew that there were nice gas stations right before heading up the mountains. I usually fill up every 180 miles on the trip but I ran out of gas when I barely rode 147 miles! anyway, luckily for me, some guy on a hayabusa saw me and pulled over. He went out of his way to buy me gas (he put it in a water bottle) it was just enough to get me to the nice gas station I was talking about. So I offered to pay for his gas for helping me out and was offering to give him money for his time but he kindly declined the cash and I only paid for his gas.... I was very thankful. So yeah, was not fun pushing my bike in the hot sun in the middle of nowhere

that was something that suprised me too. I feel like I am in some sort of secret association everyone waves and or gives me the nod.

Except one guy who decided to do a wheelie and show off. but i learned a couple days ago he flipped and totalled the bike doing that.

Your initiation ritual is being planned as we speak. We already have the goats, the industrial lube and the whips ready.

An understated benefit of being ATGATT is that your pretty much zombie proof. Full leathers and helmet means that only your neck is exposed. Compare that to your average flip-flop wearing squid, I'd say your chances are pretty high. The zombies will go for the fleshy squid, not the smelly biker whose been sweating in their leathers all day.

the gas gauge on my bike sucks any ways, some times it shows half a tank when warming up on the stand, then as soon as I straighten it out it reads EMPTY. Some other times I have just filled it up and it stills marks empty. I dk what the form is up with this bike, but I put what ever spare change I have in gas every few days.

If the bike shuts off in gear wont the rear tire stop rotating? like when its parked? or if the bike is moving and the engine shuts off it will keep rolling even if you dont have the clutch pulled in?
