Pregen race part crossover

I have a brake lever guard and a shark guard from woodcraft on order for my pregen race bike build. I'm looking for a quick turn gas cap. I only find ones for the new gen bikes. Anyone know if they fit in the pregen? Thanks.

Did you look on amazon, I have found ones on amazon that say they fit the pregen. As far as newgen pregen crossover I have no idea.

Actually no I hadn't. I've only bought books from Amazon. I just did 2 minutes of searching and found one for $50. I'll give it a try and update the thread.

Awesome! I ordered a silver one right after I made that last post. Can't wait till it gets here with the other race parts.

Thanks for the info. Once the SSR one gets in l'll add in some pics of the fit up. Now that the thread exists, others will be able to find the info.

Building a pregen race bike with the new gen and the 300 becoming so popular feels like trying to prep a vintage racer. Kinda like I'm 5 years too late to the party.

I never did post up a pic of the gas cap installed, so here it is. Fits fine, but I did have to get a bolt from the hardware store to replace a stock one that was too short.

I've been looking at that gas cap, the only thing that has stopped me from putting the trigger is it doesn't look like it's a vented one.

How does it vent? Have you had any fuel issues? How does the cap itself seal? Any issues with water getting into the tank?

Well that might/could cause fuel delivery issues then. Without a way for the tank to vent properly then fuel won't/can't flow properly.

I'm saute its not hard to macgyver the fuel overflow in the tank to dual function as a vent.

It seals and vents just fine. Water intrusion may be an issue as the cap base site 1/16" off the tank proper to provide the venting. For my purpose as a race bike it will be fine, but for a street bike in rain country not so much.
