Smile Hello everyone!

First, I just want to say Hi to everyone here! I am New to this group and to the bike world. I just bought My first bike in June. A 2001 Kawasaki Ninja 250r.
My Husband's Been riding since He could walk Anyway, I'm wanting to paint the bike and My husband is going to do it. Any suggestions on the best sprayer and the best paint to buy for the best results? Thanks in advance!

Hello Nickie, it's good to meet you!

(probably best to change your location to something less specific)

Hi Nickie and welcome to Ninjette!

As for painting, it comes down to results you want and budget. I really like results from top-quality auto-paints like Glasurit from BASF or Sikkens (now part of PPG). Painted lots of Porsches and classic pre-war Rolls Royces with them. You can easily spend over $2k on paint-job for bike. I’m not sure that would be best for you.

How long have you been riding? Have you done many training classes?

For most beginners, there’s very good likelihood that you’ll have some sort of crash incident. Anywhere from garage/parking-lot tip-overs all way to traumatic collision with giant lorry that will crush bike into pancake!

So perhaps you might want to wait year or so to paint it? There’s lots of fear in riding new bike and adding fear of damaging new paint-job may put you into some very dangerous situations.

So... perhaps rattle-can paint-job with off-the-shelf stuff might be simplest.

Welcome.

Good advice there to wait a while on painting.
Unless it's in really bad shape that your embarrassed to ride it.
