2011 WMRRA ROUND 8 - NINJA 250 CUP - Finished 4th

I thought I'd share some footage from one of my 250 races earlier this year, I always record + post my races. I originally posted it on my site: http://www.racingorder.com/2011/10/2...ninja-250-cup/

I drafted into 4th place JUST in time! Not that 4th place is any price, but the race was a lot of fun! I just switched the rear from BT-003RS to a Pirelli 120/70-17 SC2 for my rear tire and it made all the difference!!

Good job! Congrats!

BTW, seems like you got a lot of motor compared to others. Is this a Ninja 250 Formula?

Thanks!

And it helps I weigh ~50 lbs lighter vs. him.. My bike is jetted pretty well, I spent some time on the dyno. No engine modifications are allowed. Only airbox modifications allowed are removal of snorkel.

In the reviews area of my blog there are videos/details about the dyno work.

Are there any disadvantages to using a small rear tire? how is high speed stability? and is feedback from the tire negatively affected in any way? I really wanna try this! Also.... what kind of life do you get from this setup? p.s sorry for bombarding you with questions!

That's a really beautiful race track. Racing through a forest looks like good fun. Doesn't look that safe though: I assume you've got more chance of getting badly hurt if you come off.

You definitely got the top end speed!!! That guy that you passed at last second, and were swapping places with the last few laps, is very fast in the corners and had excellent lines!! Even with your higher top end, the 1st turn he was back on ya and passing you back.
Although I'm not quite sure why he kept putting his left hand behind his back on straights?? Was he signalling something was wrong??
